My favorite yearly promotion is in full swing: Play summers when there are fewer ppl in town and get your own, personal fly. If something happens to your fly security will release another.

Have to say that I am very frustrated and disappointed by the rulings made at CAZ. Honestly it makes me not want to play here anymore. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27.../#post47446492

Its time to find a new place to play. There has been so many bad rulings latley. I am starting to think it depends on who the players are who are involved.
plus some of the floor who have been there for years do not know the rules. One guy is such a jerk, he loves to be ugly to players and should never have authority he abuses it. I have a full head of hair so I think that already has him jealous.

It is hard to move a game no were close to move it to. You have to have 6 or 7 players committed to moving it. Good luck I understand your frustation.

That is a highly technical question particular to how local limit games determine kill pots. It wouldn't crack my bottom 100 worst floor rulings list.

If you are paying the highest hourly rake you would like it when you ask3 floor people a question, you do not get 3 different answers, plus the 4th one just stands be hind the dealer till a player says how it should be ruled then agreas.

sometimes they ask the host or one of the dealers husbands who are both playing in the game , what a ruling is. Yes it has happened when I have been there.

I've played at CAZ a handful of times now and I believe they have the worst floors in the country for a poker room. It's quite unbelievable how they handle situations and rulings sometimes. Here are a few examples:

2 limps, a raise, a couple folds, now it gets to the sb and he says he was sb last hand and should be btn this hand. Floor is called and rules it a misdeal. I argue significant action, and he just says no it's a misdeal, all the cards would be different. I ask what if there was a shove all in and a call; he then makes a smart ass comment that has nothing to do with poker instead of giving me a professional answer.

A recreational player has been gone from his seat no more than 15-20min, and I see a floor come over to start counting his chips to pick him up. I ask what he is doing and he says it's been more than 15 minutes and there are hundreds (yes he said hundreds) of people on the wait list. I check the list, it has 6 people, and we have 3 games. I argue there is no way the rule is 15min to pick someone up, but he says it is; I give up.

Seen a floor come to our table, make a ruling, then get a small argument from a player, now changes his ruling, gets a bunch of arguments from the rest of the table, and change his ruling back. All of this without gaining new information on the hand.

If there's a 15-min rule that they enforce consistently, I applaud them. There's little worse than a couple of *******s taking off for a meal leaving the table short in a room with 3rd man walking while there's a list.

The rest of the stuff seems really bad though.

I've played there only once and I really liked it except for one stupid rule: when I moved from a must-move to the main game @ 8/16 O8, I wanted to color up a rack or two I won at the first table. But a player at the main game objected and said that the only chips allowed on the table were $2 chips (iirc), so rather than have an unmanageable mountain of chips in front of me I just got up and played a spread-limit game until the hour was up and I could go back to the must-move.

If it's 15 mins now, then the new management has extended it by 50%. Under the previous management, it was only 10 mins. All longer absences had to be prearranged, so the floors could keep an eye on the constant walkers.

And yes, it's a great rule. Wish every room had it.

I think what likely happened is that someone saw you racking to color up with a runner and presumed you were cashing in chips and objected using a tables stakes rule.

You are allowed to color up during a must move if you like.

The 10 minute rule is still in effect , usually players are given a courtesy call back and if they don't appear within a few minutes (so sometimes they get up to 15) then racked up and seat filled.

That's great re the 10-min rule. I wish my local room had that. I'd bet you guys have a dinner list too, which my room does not have.

I'm certain that a floorman told me that I could not color up. I even said, "That's fine if you don't allow $100 chips on the table [for this game], but if that's the case I'm going to leave the game and come back to the must-move after whatever time you allow." So I guess that's another example of bad flooring. (That trip was in 2011 or 2012 I think.)

you may only have chips one level greater than the normal denomination for each game. So as 2/3 is played is normally played with reds, $25 greens are the largest chips that play in that game.

Yup, Black chips were the issue.
Color up to red (which what is assumed, incorrectly that you were doing) and you are fine...

Hey guys I just moved to North Phoenix from out of state. I'm off of 16th and Bell. Is there a bus around here that goes to the casino? I looked online couldn't find anything.

I used to live in that area; can't imagine living there without a car. Phoenix does not have a great public transit system, and it's miserably hot standing outside to wait for buses. I'm guessing you would have to transfer and take 3 different buses to get there.

Oh, I was thinking of 16th Avenue; you probably mean 16th street. Since it is closer, you might be able to take only 2 buses. I still wouldn't want to do it. If you have a car, drive there; if not, try to buy a car ASAP.

Yeah for sure. I haven't bought one yet but I will next week. I was just wondering if they had a shuttle bus in the area that goes point to point.

I think the nearest city bus stop is at Hayden and Indian Bend, about 3 miles from casino. I've done that walk before but its definitely not convenient. No direct shuttles that I know of.

That seems like it could be a good rule for spread-limit games as it would prevent hiding too many big-value chips. But it seems like a bad idea (or at least not as good of an idea) for limit games because there's so many more chips involved overall and angleshooting opportunities involving big-value chips are much more... limited.
