Nope, must have just happened to click on it before it was deleted. I was kind of interested when the bust happened but have not really been following the story that much.

There was a 25-50 mix game going on last week, but it broke after less than an hour. Do these high stakes games really revolve around a tiny number of fish and when they leave or go broke the game insta-breaks?

Spread games that big go pretty rarely (and that's what that was); mix games are 40/80+, mostly limit games (with the occasional big bet game mixed in) and usually run a while. Example: right now there are two full forty mixes at 2am on a weeknight

That game went for a few weeks because there was one big player in particular that has since banned himself from CAZ for a year

I've played a fair amount at Talking Sticks, mostly the evening shift on Football nights or Fri/Sat doing the 8 to 2 AM shift. Thinking about getting out for some weekend day play now that I'm back in the working world. Wondering if I will get a good game sat/sun midday? What am I looking at? OMC city or some tourist action? What games are likely to be running (SLHE) before the late hours?
TIA for any insights.

There are always plenty of games around the clock on weekends. 2/3 - 5/10 spread holdem and 5/10 omaha hi have been going all month during the daytime.

How many tables of 2/5 are running at midnight Monday through sunday? And do they go though the night 24/7?

Usually 2 or 3 tables of 3/5 at midnight. My guess is that the last table survives until the morning blue hairs join about 1/3 of the time.

Stupid question that's probably answered in this thread somewhere...

What's the max bet in AZ at 2/5? Is it capped at 500?
The Arena Poker Room at Casino Arizona's Talking Stick Resort (Scottsdale, AZ) -- FAQ in OP Quote

Yes, $500 is the max bet at all the higher games. At 2/3, the max bet is $300. It isn't max bet for the hand or for that round, it is max bet for that betting chance. So it could be $500 on the flop and 3 raises of $500 each.

Played the daily tourney yesterday and other than a holiday I think it's my last time. Average age of the 65 people in the tourney had to be 60-65 years old. Just an old man coffee fest. Not worth the time IMO

Durango, Are you saying the field was too easy, too much coffee or, you were concerned by the foreshadowing?

Just a nit fest and boring and literally everyone at the table had a coffee and it was just comical. Forgot how old/reg infested the day tourney really is. Definitely only playing the weekend tourneys if any tourney at all. I like the last Saturday of the month tourney there.

nit fest? I have a friend who prop bet he could make the final table in this tournament without looking at his cards, pretty sure he got close.

I don't know anything about this tournament, but wouldn't it being a nit fest help you if you were trying to win without looking at your cards, i.e. relying on the other people folding often?

Nit can mean weak tight, but it can also mean someone who limps QQ+ and then check calls down. So you can wind up losing in really unexpected spots. This is not an uncommon spot in a table of OMCs.

yep, and it helps you even more if you look at your cards.

Ok trolls, my point is the tourney was 85% OMC and wasn't really a fun tourney considering Any time I cAlled down an OMC he had QQ+ which I thought was funny

One of the regs called the floor on me because I was shoving dark for 10x average stack and I wasn't allowing them to play real poker
