Thanks!
I have not stayed there myself, but the other day someone who stays often told me this is correct. $69 even on the weekends, as long as you get a basic room (not a special suite). I think you have to just book it at the regular rate, whatever it is for that day, then have the poker room personnel tell them to discount it.

Went last night to play, there were 2 2/5s and a 5/10. Was #3 for 2/5 and #2 for 5/10 so just left after waiting 30 min. They also have put 5/10 board in the front of the poker room instead of with the higher limit/mixed in the back.

Just sucks with that $500/rule, would come into play at 5/10 a decent amount.

^ not interested in 2/3? the games have been playing pretty big last couple times I have played but I guess that's relative if you are used to 5/10

I was told 4 hours by another player, but again that is not definitive. I'm sure you can ask the poker manager on duty and they can tell you.

Time for some gossip! A post on a vegas poker site says this:

Quote:
A Rumor is floating around Scottsdale that the new Director of Poker at Talking Stick Poker Room (Casino Arizona) is from Las Vegas.
Anyone heard anything? My knee jerk reaction is this can't be a good hire, as most of Vegas people are retreads to begin with. Would rather have new blood.

Is there really something like "new blood", whoever is hired will be old blood from some room, if not CAZ itself. I'd rather the person just be good at listening, with enough experience and good judgement to run the room well while being open to finding thoughtful ways to improve it. There is a lot to running the room you and I don't see, and the manager needs a wide range of skills.

There is a certain floor that possesses every one of these attributes, but for some reason they didn't pick her.

I heard the same rumor but has not been confirmed yet... I did hear good things tho about a possible person this might be from a current dealer in Vegas.

Hopeful, we need it!

All types of limit games. NL tons of 2/3 spread, and usually 3 tables of 3/5 spread going. recently about 3 times/week 5/10 has been running.

What are everyones thoughts time collection games and tournament tables getting football ticket promotions without paying into the promotion drop? I've talked to a couple dealers and a floor person and they say they while it obviously isn't fair, it's been that way forever and it is what it is.

Sure it's unfair, but it's also unfair to people who play the jackpot drop games but not on days with football games. The only way to make it fair would be to have a special drop just during football games as well.

Kind of. They can choose to play during the promotions. I'm surprised more of the old poker lawyer promotion grinder guys don't have a problem with this.

Not everyone is available every day to capitalize on whatever promos is going.

Personally I have a problem with the whole thing in general; the whole jackpot drop concept is unfair to people who want to play poker but not play a lottery. I'm glad there are some games in the room where players are not forced to pay it.

It's kind of a double edged sword. I play mostly 2-3 and I feel like it brings in a lot of players that wouldn't be there otherwise, and helps to convince losing players they have a bit of a chance and something to keep sitting there for. Obviously, you have to put up with hearing about the jackpot every two minutes, but all in all I think it's a big positive for the games.
