right. I am saying 500 cap wouldn't be horrible at 5/5, and they are telling me that 25/25 is playable. ok...

Make the game 5-5 then there's a capped buy in and every nit sits down with his min but and just ships his stack with KK+ because its spread limit rater than pot limit and he can have an spr of 1 everytime he has AA (it still happens at bigger games but he may get called in a few spots and has to play post with few k behind)
5-10 is like a 300 min and 2500 max. 10-20 has a 1k min buy. so the problems of all the short stack nits wont happen at the 10-20+ game.

Just because its not set up for deep stacked PLO experts to crush doesn't mean it's not a good stricture conducive for gambling and big action.

It's a different game that requires different skills. PLO and NL can be beat by nits who really aren't that skilled. The best players are in a league beyond. Most NL/PLO winners could never beat limit Holdem or mix games, for example.

Somehow the promotional fund dropped from maybe 700k when I was there a month ago to less than 200k a week ago...what happened?

what would it take for them to offer spread or no limit 2-7 lowball with min and max buyin guidelines similar to the games discussed in the last few posts?

I would spend more time there if we could play that game.

Show up and ask to play it and if nothing big is already going you'll prob have a game. Spread limit single draw (50/75 blinds) is frequently jn mix

I think that it was the 'spin-the-wheel' promo paying out a LOT more than they'd expected. It's a good promo that would obv be more sustainable w/o the progressive jackpot included. I'd like to see it again once the fund gets built up.

What has happened to the poker director? Is he still there or is there a new Director?

He's gone. 'retired' I think is the term they are using. The TD is gone also. They haven't filled the position yet and have a job listing up on their site as well.

Does anyone here feel like the 3/5 is nittier than any other 2/5 game. I have played at a lot of places and really can't think of any nittier game.

Few nights ago I was playing, and in about 20 hands there were 5 walks. It's usually not that bad, but everyone is always playing so tight.

Besides Ron.

5 years ago I played exclusively spread. Games were great. Now they are terrible, don't have any easy solution. Infested with mediocre nits, maybe bring GMan back to put everyone on tilt?

This is a different game than 5 years ago, right? Didn't they have a 150 max betting limit then?

Everyone wants bigger stacks and bigger spreads, but the bigger the spread, the worse the games are gonna get more quickly. The limit games are so good it's almost unbelievable. I play mostly 20/40 and it's not rare I look around and everyone else in the game is horrible.

idk who that is. I just turned 21 few months ago and enjoy playing live sometimes. Every time I go there, I remind myself why I don't go there more often. It's just so bad, i've honestly never seen so much nittyness.

One of the last times I was there this guy checked back AA on A44xx all the way down and said he didn't wanna get stacked.....................................

Seems like an easy way to fix the nittyness problem
Would be to make the blinds 25-25 and keep spread the same.

The gamblers got busted in that game is my guess. There used to be many more 3-5 games than there are now. Interestingly I was watching one of the 3-5 games alongside a friend that plays for his living and pointed out a player w/ what looked to be $4K in front of him and I was how did he get the action to get that much money. And then I watched him donk off a whole bunch of chips in a hopeless situation and realized that he was the action and just got lucky.

Why not try the limit games? They always have action.

I have no idea how someone could play that game for a living. Also, I have never played live limit, but I might try it. 20/40 or something.

The person I'm referring to table selects like a mofo and plays every game 20-40 and below so he's not just making his way in the 3-5.

Wow, either games are amazing over there or he lives a very conservative lifestyle to not have to play anything larger than a red (can't recall if CAZ has same as vegas) chip game.

He lurks here and I don't want to give away too much info but I'll say that he makes it work and lives comfortably.

Hey guys, can someone clarify how the poker room rate works?
I'm planning on getting a room on the weekend of 20-22 (Friday-Sunday). I don't plan on playing poker n those days, though I consistently play 20-30 hours every week. Previously I had heard you had to play 6 hours each day that you're staying, but I overheard someone saying that's not exactly the case, and if you play regularly they will still hook you up.

Thanks

Next time you play, tell the floor what you want and they'll try to accommodate.

Was this recent? I was there a month ago for a weekend and met the poker room manager. He was very nice. Let me know.
