LOL serious? Man I think they'd ban me from the casino if I ever played a tourney because I'd never even contemplate doing this.

Good grief, and to think I was upset we chopped the end of month tourney at ten players and we didn't even finish it out...

Embarassing. These chops have to stop.

the house loves a quick chop. as then all those players at once are there together to start new games. the house gets the best of both worlds and the better players essentially fund it.

11th -20th paid $247

1st was somewhere around $7,500

1st and 2nd in chips got $3,000

3rd in chips got $2,000 (third place money)

Everybody else got $1,000 +/-

I was close to the chip lead at 60 players left and then three hands later I was out.

The bounty format is awfully strange to begin with, just need to knockout 2 players and you're basically freerolling (200 entry, 100 per bounty). I played with a guy who told me he got eight bounties last month. Seems like finishing first isn't so much the goal but earning a large number of bounties is...

I just couldn't get up and be there for the 9am start or I woulda played. How many runners were there?

I think a big part of the push to chop is player based, not house based... nobody wants to eclipse the 5K mark and have the casino file tax paperwork on them. I would give my left nut (and right nut too) to cash for five figures someday. Venerian Deep Stack Extravaganza III baby!

Gotta get a seat into the AZ State Champ., I don't think they'll allow a chop in that... someone's gotta have their photo taken with the winning hand and the stacks of Ben Franklins... right? sigh

They had around 260 runners.

I had six bounties.

A guy went all in for 675 and I raised to 2500 with 9-5o to get heads up for the bounty.

With each bounty being worth $100 and a min cash is worth +$12 ($235 entry), you have to get as many bounties as possible.

It chops all the time, but there is always some left to play for so they can get the champ, pictures, promo materials, etc, etc.

I just signed up for Sunday's state tourney satellite. The guy at the cage said it was kind of a new thing. Has anyone here ever played in one of these? What kind of field can I expect?

What's the rake at CAZ for limit and no limit games? Anyone know how it compares to Fort McDowell or any other casino in the area?

Dunno about other casinos, but all spread limit games under 5-10, as well as all limit games under 20-40(?) are $4 rake + $2 jackpot drop. All other games are $7 per half hour, with no jackpot drop.

isn't the 10-20 spread limit $8 a half hour? I think the 7 handed draw games are $8 as well.

Hm, dunno, 10-20 spread limit almost never runs, (for good reason). Not sure why there would be any difference, especially considering they only take $7 per half hour in the 100-200+ games AFAIK, although logic doesn't necessarily have to apply.

Also, FWIW, I am definitely noticing the floor being much more on top of getting must move tables going, so that's helpful.

yeah it's $8, but a lot of time the dealers don't notice and still charge $7.

Anybody know if they run a shuttle to local hotels? I'm thinking work is gonna put me up at the Double Tree on Scottsdale road, so I'm trying to figure out how to get back and forth if I don't get assigned a rental car. How is cab service and what's it gonna cost me?

The cab ride FROM the casino will cost you more than the cabride TO the casino IF you take a cab that is waiting outside when you leave.
For ride home call the cab company that brought you to come back and pick you up when you are ready.

maybe im a little crazy but does CAZ run a 75-150 NL game because last time i was there people were talking about a game running in the corner of 75/150

There's no true NL allowed in AZ so, no. The 75 will be in various forms depending on who's there that day.

Small clarification, the 5/10 spread is only $7.
