Borgota in AC has a roped off elevated floor for the high limits and final table which I always thought added more for the average player.... I agree i think there could be more focus on the aesthetics of the room, the "Arena" sign/TV's in the middle is different but im my view not a good expenditure. Add something to make to room feel like a poker room, not a sports bar. Water under the bridge.
Focus on things like the chairs, notice, me included, how many players are buying gel pads? The seats are not comfortable for any extended period of time. You want players to be comfortable, they will play for longer periods of time.
Table tops: most of them look filthy, even the ones they change get dirty fast, when i muck a hand the cards stop where they hit the table.
I see dealers making multiple motions to push posts because the chips that are touching the table stay where they are, chips should slide, not stick on the table. It slows the game down, a lot.
