I wonder if they get subtracted from the players fund when they are printed or redeemed.

Stopped by here on my cross country road trip. Beautiful room! But the games at the 3/5 level are some of the toughest $5 BB I've seen in the nation. Not too many incredibly fishy regs, from what I've seen. I miss Foxwooods already

Then again, maybe that's because I was there on weekday afternoons/evenings.

Besides the tickets after 8 hours of play, we also get a small amount per hour. I didn't realize I had X amount of $ on my card, and have been using it when I don't have a ticket.

So the tickets expire...or...whatever/it depends. But how long does the small amount of $ we get per hour stay on the card? Does it ever expire? Just looking at the total I had I imagine it has been accruing since last year.

QFT. course after FW, every 2/5 game seems tough.

Although I was told at the Player's Card desk that the $$$ drops off after a year I guess it would be a good idea to double check but I think that it's going to turn out that you should cash it out every 6 months or so if you don't use it to pay for things regularly.

Whoa, we can redeem it for cash/check/whatever? Thanks, I'll check it out.

1. food comps do not subtract from players fund
2. ask a floor manager, they are always willing to help (if ur tix expired, or other issues)
3. while food is not great, its decent, and waitresses are very helpful in any specifics and needs you have to the way food is prepared. (i am a very picky eater )
4. player fund does have expiration, the rumor is 12 months.
5. (personally, i miss drink tix, sigh........)

Think you are wrong here...unless you are not talking about the jackpot fund.

Because THEY ARE taken from the jackpot fund.

On bottom it clearly says "Charge to Poker Room HPF"

HPF stands for house promotional fund, aka jackpot.

ergo, grab as much food as you can before they give it away to someone else.

It's in the casino's best interest to give all these comps possible. The money comes out of the fund, and then gets spent in their stores. They lose a tiny percentage of the dollar price...

Anyone wanna bet that they subtract the money from the fund, ticket redeemed or not?

I think food is better than average & the tickets out of the jackpot is always what I assumed so can't say that bothers me...

Wish the tickets were just on the card rather than paper print out every time.

The real crime is that the "jackpot" money isn't jackpot money, it's "player promotional money," meaning that every little thing that ever comes back to you in terms of promotional money (football, splash pots, food, tournament overlays) comes out of that fund.

...and the best part about overlay tournaments is that if you're playing a $100+20 with a $1000 guarantee, and 9 people show up, and the casino has $1080, they're still using $100 of the "jackpot" money to cover the overlay, since the $180 worth of rake doesn't count.

Players need to know where their money goes.

there isn't a website anywhere online that tracks the results for the monthly tourneys? runners/prize pool etc?

Your best bet is the Southwest Poker News. They usually list the final table members along with the prize pool for the major CAZ tourneys near the end of the magazine.

Random complaints:

Guy spins the wheel for quads, wins a hundred bucks. When the floor pays him, he says, "Does this have to stay on the table?" Floor says no, you can put it in your pocket.

Three hours later, different table, exact same thing happens, but this time it's a different floor person. Floor says yes, it has to stay on the table.

Weasly guy at the 8-16 game goes from the 6 seat, to the 7, to the 3, back to the 7, and then to the 4. Each time moving out of the big blind. I finally say "this is ridiculous, that guy's gotta post. He's moved 3 or 4 times." Dealer calls the floor. Floor looks at him and says, "Did you move four times?" Player says no. Floor says, "ok then, if you move again, you'll have to post."

Do the floor people just give whatever ruling pops into their head first? In other words, are there any fricken rules at all in this place?

I confirmed the food voucher thing this weekend. In the middle of dropping 5 racks at 20/40, I ordered a meal and gave her the food voucher that expired at 8pm the night before. She said she couldn't take it, so I called a floor over and they said they can't change it either. So yippie, make sure you use your food vouchers. And if you only play once a week, you'll have to try to make them print out at the end of your session so you can use it at the beginning the next week. And heaven forbid you play on Sat one week and Sun the next, **** you, they don't want your type.

They could just let you wait on printing it out.

With all of the complaints, I would hate for
Somebody planning a trip to Caz to have the wrong impression. I think some of the floor people at CAZ are the best I have ever dealt with (some
Obviously more so than others), often going out of their way to small things that are appreciated, like dropping off food vouchers that I forgot to print off or taking my card in the middle of long sessions to make sure I hit continue.

I'd also like to mention that I find most of the dealing staff to be very good also.

---------------------

They really ought to have food vouchers that don't expire, though, or credit the 62.5 cents to the player's card so that it can be used for food instead.

---------------------

Also, very few of the 8-16 players are moving to avoid the blinds. They are lucky seat chasers and I never complain.

I agree and there is always room for improvement & to me one of the nicest parts about CAZ is that they listen to the players and adapt. It might take some time but they do listen... As State structure & payouts is a great example.

On a very positive note I think that the climate control system may actually be fixed this time. Once they get the new light bulbs all will be well.

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon after a round of golf at The Boulders (brag) with some buddies... we all got on the 8-16 list to play together for luls and I jumped into 4-8 while we waited for a 3rd 8-16table to pop... about 30 mins in with a limper in the CO and the SB completing I peaked at TT in the BB... threw in the raise and both came along... The board called down our new 8-16 table at this instance so I was prepared to leave after my button...

Flop was A35... I bet the flop, limper called, sb called. Another A on turn so I bet again and the limper RAISED, the sb folded, and I looked at him and said NH, I guess you don't have a kicker? with a little lol chuckle as I tossed in the call... The river A comes and the table tensed up and dealer called the floor. The guy looks across the table at me with a huge smile and nod that he had it... check check... he turns up A6 and my TT won the bad beat!!

Jackpot was only at 10K but was a nice 5K hit on a Saturday afternoon!!
