The difference is instantly noticeable, they diffuse the light better and he says they are 10 degrees cooler than the old ones. The problem? The poker room has to wait for the internal casino red tape before they get installed.

The idea is to move to L.E.D.
If you go to the back corner of the room look at the lights above table 50 you can see the new bulbs there and can see 6 or 7 individual LED's in each "bulb".

The L.E.D's produce 60+ degree less heat than the current incandescent spots/floods. ( ive seen them measure the difference with a laser temp gauge) this decrease will help the A/C and ventalation in the room.

The L.E.D's diffuse the light much better that the spots that are there now.

Nah I wasn't joking. So the light will be more evenly spread out? Good stuff.

You sure get the red carpet treatment.

The most important thing that we need is a flat 10% rake, and it's never going to happen.

Management gonna manage.

Bring back online poker so Talking Stick has some real competition again?

When you get 391 runners in a tournament charging 25% rake or so, what's the incentive to lower anything... amirite?

P.S. I skipped the tournament today, starting to realize just how bad we players are getting shafted with this crap. Just a voice in the wilderness tho. The donk that roared. LOL

I agree, bring back online poker. I just got home from the poker room, and I had a good night. But I was really bitter driving home.

I was playing during the Final Four games today, doing well. But after two hours of the drunks at the blackjack table screaming every 90 seconds, I had had enough. I say to the dealer, "Could you call the floor please?"

Floor comes over, and I say, "Is there any way you could say something to that blackjack table?"

He says, "Absolutely not. They're having fun."

I was kind of stunned at how confrontational he was. I say, "Well, 5 people are having fun, but the other 400 in the room are getting tired of it."

He reaches into his pocket and says, "You want the number?"

So I bite and say, "What number is that?"

He says, "The number to Ft. McDowell."

It must be nice to have a monopoly on the poker action in the Phoenix area so much so that the manager can treat the customers like dog **** and tell them to take their business else where.

A bunch of the high limit players are organizing a regular 75-150 hold em game. The game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday evenings. Hopefully we can get this thing off the ground.

I Love Poker and Arizona, but honestly, if I worked at a Casino and had to choose between a Wild/Drunk Blackjack table going and a (I'm guessing) 8/16Limit or 5/500 Poker Game going; I'd favor the blackjack game, as far as making money for casino goes.

Sick brag: Chopped the saturday tourney 3-ways for 8k.

Did take a 1-outer beat at the final table for a million+ chip pot.

I'll be back next saturday for the deepstack.

Rake is definitely beatable. The players are worse than the 2/180 or sunday lottery players.

Holy **** did people hate me when I didn't pay the bubble or want a chop 7-handed. What gives?

EDIT: +1 to the light thing. It sucks **** to be in the 5 seat on certain tables.

I'm guessing a 7 handed chop would have avoided a the hassle of cashing over 5k and getting the tax form?

Then again, it may just be because people are nits.

Nice cash either way. I agree that the tournament is still beatable despite the juice. However, it is still ridiculous.

5k mark not hit until 2 players remaining (if not for a chop).

I just thought it was obnoxious when I had 700k and there were 3 players with less than 100k. And then I get berated and called an *******. -.-"

Standard. When I chopped the deepstack in Nov 3 handed, same stuff happened. Guy was begging everyone to chop from about 15 players on until he busted before the final table. And guess who was the shortest stack during that time period? I kept declining until the blinds started doubling and the two of us who had equal (largest) stacks had less than 20 BB. And we didn't give the 3rd place guy the same money as we got.

Also, collusion is abound.

Various softplay was obvious, but the worst came up at the final table 6-handed.

UTG shorty (woman) raises all in to around 2.3 BB. Folds around to the BB who ponders and NEVER looks at his cards and folds. I was going to say something but figured nothing would happen anyways given how much the director already disliked me for not paying bubble/chopping.

That woman stayed around talking to the other colluder, who ended up chopping. It's quite obvious they were at least friends.

Paying the bubble buy has almost become tradition. If you don't want to give up too much prize money, try to give him his buy in back only.

They should adjust the payouts then.

Then you would have another bubble player that is paid until you are paying the whole field.

I just said no during my tourney score to bubble payout, and that was that. And I wasn't given any crap and being pressured even though I'm not a tourney regular. It also helped that a few people got fed up with the constant asking to chop that they joined my side, and I didn't have to be the vocal one opposed each time anymore.

I will not ever agree to pay the bubble again. I was in a satellite, down to 5, paid 4. Short stack (3BB) pitched paying the bubble. I said no, but after some whining, and everyone giving me crap, I relented. Short stack then says, I kid you not, "Oh boy, now I can play poker again" while rubbing his hands together. Yeah, that's why I ddin't want to pay the bubble. He then gets super aggro, and the rest of us go card dead. He was chip leader when I got knocked out.

I agree the rake is tough but like you said no where else to play... I love the tournaments but only play the Super Deep & Bounty cause other two monthly tournaments aren't worth it with the rake..
