Might need to actually make a chip bigger than $500 if they ever hope to have a playable 50/100 game.

Played the 3/5 1200 cap yesterday, plays pretty similar to the used to be 3/5 2000max 600spread, not sure why they took the cap of the 2/3 game down from 600 to 300 which is a pretty big difference. Spoke with a few dealers and this is a test run as of right now.

Playing 3-5NL last night. One of the dealers who was working as a chip runner made an unsolicited complaint to a floor supervisor about how one of the players at our table was wearing his mask. Floor supervisor comes to our table and goes absolutely ballistic on the player. Yelling, screaming and threatening the player, and poking his finger in the players face while hovering over him. The player remained in his seat the entire time and tried to diffuse the situation but the floor person wouldn't let it go and kept up his abuse. I have never seen anything like this before. Was totally uncalled for and way overboard. This sort of behavior should not be tolerated.

This should get changed back. The stacks at that game were already on the small side. The $300 cap will make it very difficult to beat the rake even with how soft the game is.

Damn the $600 cap made the game so much better but I think in the long run getting rid of the dumb spread limit and pre flop betting caps is better

Walked by the 2/3 games and stacks used to easily be able to reach 1.5k to 2k with that 600max cap, now it looks like people are hovering around 1k at the most which is a big change.

Fish bust sooner, it's no-limit.

Wow so we finally got NL in AZ. I guess the updated compact did allow them to run NL? And now they can run big games that aren't limit. Wonder why it took them so long to do it, unless they had to get some kind of additional regulatory approval. Seems like the switch to NL should've been a no brainer as soon as they were able. 100 bb buy in for 2/3 is standard and shouldn't really be a big plus or minus. The rest of the games with caps have a 240 or 250bb cap which is relatively deepstack.

From my perusal of the pdfs from the gaming commission I gathered that it was actually the tribal leadership that set the limits as long as it stayed under 7 digits.

Has anyone heard of 50/100 actually going?

I’m pretty sure no NL games bigger than 10/20 have run so far. Have seen one or two names on the list for 25/25 and 50/100 a couple times, but nothing more.

Why does the 5/10 and 10/20 nl say HL next to them on bravo is there something different about them or just an oversight?

HL = high limit, meaning it is seated and managed by the high limit board in the back of the room, instead of the main board at the main entrance. But with Bravo, you can sign up at any computer.

20/40 limit games and above along with 5/10 NL and above are managed by the high limit board.

This is from Bravo Poker Live for Talking Stick in AZ. It says Holdem HL and NL Holdem HL. Do they really play Holdem high/low? What else does it mean?

It stands for high limit. You sign up for those games at the high limit stand at the back of the room.

I don’t know TS but do they have a separate high limit room? That is my guess what is meant.

No they dont, but the 'High Limit' games tend to be spread in the back part of the room.

New rule change at TS. When changing tables at the same stakes you cannot bring over your whole stack if it exceeds the table maximum. You have to put everything over the max into your pocket. This seems like it could be abused easily but what do I know.

Yeah, that is just asking for people with a big stack to request a table change instead of getting up and having to wait 45 minutes to play again.

What about forced table combines?

Anyone playing the “Staycation” series this weekend? Trying to decide if it’s worth skipping work on Friday to play that day and get the free hotel room.

Anyone play this series in the past?

Skip work on a Friday, play poker, and get a free room? That's a no brainer, I would do it, when we stayed at the hotel it was one of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in.

I've heard of players complaining (shocking, I know) about free rooms 'selling out' in years past (pre-pandemic, of course). I've never tried it myself, as I usually only play one of the events.

Report back if you pull the trigger, and any roadblocks you might encounter.

Called into the poker room, they said rooms were still available but might run out soon so I should register soon. Drove to TS and registered, got the room without any problems.

I recently moved to the area so I'm excited to get some time in the poker room -- also curious to see what the hotel rooms are like!

Anyone else playing this weekend?
