I'm on 6 lists right now, came in to play for three hours and 20 lists too long. I guess when this change happens on Dec 7 i can just turn around and go home on days like this.

they need a way to accommodate a person who walks in and says ill play in any game say 20 40 or higher or start one. he should be on all lists and get a seat wherever it opens if he is in line.

How are they going to get higher stakes games going if they won't let you get on a list?
You have a very good point there. What does it cost the casino if you are on 5 or more lists.

How do you know what the lineup is? Do you constantly go over to check the game? This was never a problem at Bay 101 afaik, but they were usually very busy. They call your name 3 times, about 15 seconds worth, and move on to the next name if you don't answer. No time for silliness like checking the game before you say you'll take it.

The game is usually less than 40 feet away, I stand up see who is playing, or I walk over to the table and ask the players what games they are playing, and then give the floor a thumbs up or down. Almost always a thumbs up BTW.

It's not hard and doesn't take long, when a seat opens once every hour or two there is no big hurry.

Lol, I still remember people trying to cover those vents with the food tray covers.

I really think the whole room was terribly designed. I liked the old tent better.

Years back when it was as freezing as it is now (I really hope they fix it) I wore gloves while playing. Some players wanted a ruling which went my way. I guess I'll bring them tomorrow if I can find them.

My suggestion is not to pump cold air when it is 45F out.

Late night 20 holdem has been awful last two nights. Both times the must move breaks and they make the main 10 handed until all the mm players can get in. Besides being less comfortable seating-wise, it makes the games more rocky, so you are crammed in and folding more hands, just a sucky combination.

There are a couple changes that would help this situation. First is the previously mentioned making players move with missed blinds, that reduces the times when fifth player walks cause they are next to move, and game snap breaks because someone won't play 4 handed. But an even better solution is what some rooms do, don't fill the 9th seat in main if must move is short. For example keep the main 8 handed when MM is 6 handed. Keeping the must move at least 6 handed helps keep it from breaking. Keeping games from breaking means fewer players sitting around waiting for seats.

Even better, just as 9 handed is better than 10 handed, 8 handed is more enjoyable than 9, because more action and more hands. It's a better customer experience.

Some good news is they aren't going to allow you to roll on lists anymore. That's a very positive change that should reduce floor workload, force players to take seats and help keep games going, and increase list honesty.

WTF? Rolling is a useful tool that I use all the time. There is some kind of law that I always get called for another game 5 minutes after my food arrives.

10 handed games are the worst. I really don't like their obsession with them. At least doing that at night is a quasi customer service reason. I love your 8 handed solution, but we are different types of players than the majority of the nits.

I hate it when the floor mismanages the list (aka not paying attention) and someone gets skipped and then complains and instead of admitting their mistake and correcting it, they make the game 10 handed. I've snap quit a game in the past when that has happened.

Is the rolling just for high limit games?

When I played the 20 I lobbied for this so damn hard only to be ignored. 'You'll have more paying customers' didn't work worth a damn except there is one single floor who took it upon himself to do it when he could.

----------------

In other news they've changed the rake to $3 + $3 (temporarily, I was told) in order to build up the promo fund. At least the manager isn't like the old one who had to have $700K+. Current is $214K and w/ football season they need more and they are taking it from themselves for a change.

They should never go to 10 players. Changes game completely, plus very uncomfortable. They do not ever offer to drop the rake

Wow, my table hit the bad beat jackpot yesterday and apparently you will still get a table share even if you are not dealt into the hand, as long as you haven't been away from the table for 10 minutes or more. We had one guy at the table who was gone, they checked the tape and it was only 9 minutes so he got a table share.

By the way, ideas to help liven up these nitty 2/3 games? I played for the first time in a while and as someone posted in the previous page, you do get a ton of hands which are just a bunch of limpers, which creates a small pot. Or someone will raise big and get maybe 1 caller and take it down with a c-bet. I found that min-raising to $6 with a lot of hands would create some action, and build a reasonable pot. Not sure how profitable those games are long term if they all play like that.

letting them not must move people to the main soon leads to having great second games and tight mains that are shorter handed while they balance the two games. new players sit in the must move and no one comes over.
it hurts when the move person is a rock but you need to move them over to get action in the main as it isnt always a rock. usually the must move is a better game in most places. plus you are always fighting the players that wont start the main as they know the must move later on will be good. or they quit the main and wait the time frame or sneak into the must move and become way down on the list and get to play in the must move good game all night.

When I used to play the 20-40 I'd sit out the hour if the main was not to my liking if I had the time and if not I'd go home. They are losing customers and IDK if they realize it or if they think that it's much of a problem. My best suggestion way back when was to let players from the main switch w/ players from the MM if they could find one willing to do it (and w/ all of the 'this seat isn't lucky' players it can happen). This would allow players w/ a clue to self-balance the games. My idea didn't get anywhere.

Re: the 2-3-300 non-action game. I attended a BARGE event years ago and those characters had 2 tables of each game type: a 'Must Drink' game and a not must drink game. Talking Stick might consider spreading a 'Must Drink' game!

Or they could call the morgue and let them know that some of the corpses have escaped and are playing the 2-3-300 so that they can come collect them and allow live ones into the game.

I jokingly proposed a Reverse Polarity Button years ago. At a predetermined time (or not) the floor walks up and announces that now the main game will be feeding the MM.

In my opinion it is very important to keep the must move just that a must move from top of list down. If I know who the next people who be moved to my game can help me determine whether to stay or leave.

As far as bad games with no action or bad players . You can always play bad to make it a better game for the other players.

Wouldn't the chance to switch games make that choice easier?

You would then get a situation where everyone is on the move list for the better game. It isn't as simple of a solution as you think.

There wouldn't be any list. A main game player simply goes to the MM game and asks if anyone wants to switch and, if one does, that player takes the other player's place on the MM list. It would mean some clicking by the floor, obv too much of a pita.

Send a party bus to the bay area and import some baysians. That would liven up your games.

I've never played in a must move game. Except for that one time I had a wild hair up my arse and tried the Wynn 5/T. It must suck to not be able to table select.

And then seats begin to be sold by players when they are leaving a game.
