For those not in the know, Arizona taxis are not regulated as they are in Vegas, where they are all the same price. So check the price if you don't want to get ripped off.

They actually ran a game like that one day, but never since that I'm aware of.

definitely not anything that happens with any regularity ( at all that ive seen on swing), probably just a one time "hey lets try this" bug a group of the 75 mix players got trying to see if they could create anymore action.

Apparently it didn't go over very well, likely because of the $500 bet cap

I'd think it's more likely because it's just too big a game for most, and regs don't want to play that high unless there are plenty of HUGE fish in the game. It's essentially a limit game though.

Does the 5-10 really have a 500$ cap?

From what I've been able to find (paragraph 2 of appendix F(2)), up to 10 tables at a casino can currently have limits between $250 and $500. Limits at the rest of the tables can't exceed $250.

It falls under A.R.S. § 5-601.02(C). Search the page for "wager limits for a hand of poker", if you're curious.

I believe it's handled by using the $250 cap for the 1/2 spread limit games, and reserving the $500 cap for the bigger spread limit games, and the rare high limit games that would exceed the $250 bet.

Wow. A 500$ bet must affect the 5-10 in a real way. It rarely if ever comes up at 3-5.

Another wierd rule, have you heard this one? Caller Shows First. If there is no betting on the river, they showdown in order from the SB.

So Caller shows first someone shoves the turn he calls from earlier position because they are all in and there is "no action" on the river. Odd.

If that happens I am invoking IWTSTH nearly 100% of the time.

$500 bets in the $5 game are rare, but $300 bets are common.

So much better than a year ago ($150 max bet).

This is the rule at one local casino that I am aware of and yes, it does result in frequent use of IWTSTH unfortunately. Try to resist if you can.

Weird. Wonder if they are mis-interpreting the check-check rule. In that case, ep checks, which is considered "aggression" and later position checks, which is considered a call of the aggression.

Showdown in order from the small blind after no action on the river due to an all in has been the rule in multiple places I have dealt. If the players care they will argue about it 100% of the time without knowing what the house rule is.

I asked one of the floor guys in the poker room about the comp system and he said they still have no idea when it will happen but they will be crediting everyone with 8 hrs of play for every day they've played as a way to make up for all the delays.

There is no "caller shows first " rule at CAZ.

If i call YOU, you show first, if there is NO betting action the showdown begins closest to the button.

If its an all in situation:
heads up, i check you bet i go allin for less, i am still calling YOU , you show.
OR i check raise allin and YOU call, I show first...

multiway: i bet, you raise and get another caller, i go allin for less than your raise, sidepot created. YOU show, then second caller shows for side pot, then i show for main.

In a sense its the same thing, because of the $500 bet cap, the players that CAN( financially) play a 75/150 NL aren't there.( or at least enough of them arent)

Caller 'often' shows first due to the misinterpretation of the "no action on river" rule.

I found another wrinkle this week. When I had about 70$ left [cold streak, really!] the reg bet 65$ so I 'raise' all in and have to show first. I won the hand so I didn't pout, but if it becomes common I will start calling and leave myself with 1/15th the pot for future streets.

The $4house/$2JP drop has caused something that I NEVER thought would happen to happen. There are people talking about the drop that never talked about it before. There are dealers who say that THEY are seeing people talking about the drop that have never talked about it before and that all the comments are negative. Wow. IDK if that extra dollar is going to be standard from now on but it sure has had an impact.

I'm not quite sure why they increased the drop for the jackpot. They don't seem to be running any better promotions (they have the same crap they had when it was $1.00 JP drop...)
