I'm surprised the room isn't busy at all. I thought the HPT would've brought more people. Very unfortunate. I might stop by this weekend to support the room.

I hear the 50/100 mix game players from Horseshoe will bring that game to Ameristar this Friday. Anyone else hear?

Yea, ive been checkin bravo and they rarely get games going, the 1/3 is always 1/2 now(which is whatever), and if the HPT and opening month didnt do it, i cant see what will. Too bad, it had potential. Nice room with nice rules(mississippi from anywhere, buy in to half the big stack).

If horseshoe would implement some of these rules which Indiana obv has approval to do, it would not only speed up the inevitable close of this room, but i feel would also give the shoe a major boost. Not that it really needs it, but cant hurt. Arguably a negative would be with the games playing much bigger the player pool may bust sooner so I can see that side too.

Im on a tangent. This room is dead. I can unsubscribe to this thread soon.

They may try to accommodate overflow from WSOP event coming up soon. I can't see them staying open much longer after that though.

Majestic had a couple tables running about an hour before that fwiw.

To me they just didn't do anything to get people to want to break their routine. I mean the advertising is basically a couple posters on the property (and the room is obviously isolated/has next to no foot traffic). They didn't do anything to get people who play at horseshoe to move. They didn't even do anything to get people to move a good 7-iron away from the dump that is the Majestic. I mean do something for a grand opening. You've got a place 10 minutes down the road "giving" away a $1,500 tourney package to their regs I don't think you can count on random bacc traffic as your sole player base and not have what happened to them happen.

I like the Shoe just fine, but Majestic has seen better days and a little competition is good for everyone. I was really hoping that Ameristar could hang on and fill that void.

I don't know - I have been there the last few Sundays for the Mystery Bounty tournament and I just don't get how more people aren't all over this. It was basically a nice paying $150 sit and go where 2 people got to play for free (automatic $150 for being mystery bounty and automatic $150 for taking out the mystery bounty) AND THERE'S $50 BOUNTIES!!?? Nice structure, too - 10K starting stack and 25 min blinds. Plus the waitress was willing to go all the way out of the casino to the sports bar to bring me a Guinness, so yeah - I like this place. I played a few cash games here after the HPT and I hope it takes off - great staff and nice room.

+1

I played in the Monday $100 tournament with the $4k guarantee....good structure, very well run. Hopefully, folks will give this room a chance...would be a shame if they had to close in favor of that toilet that's the Majestic Star.

Everything about this room was great, but for some reason, they have never been able to get players to come, and if the action isn't there, then nobody comes. Comfortable room, great chairs, charging port at each seat, auto-shufflers, bravo, good cards and chips, I saw nothing wrong at all. Really surprised they weren't a hit from day 1, but since they weren't for whatever reason, the lack of action makes it hard for them to get it going.

Stopped by for the Friday night tourney for the first time.

Tourney was well run as far as I could tell, with an overlay that seemed to be the norm (was a 4k guarantee 100$ buy-in (I believe it was 87+13)). Think they got 38 total.

Only one 1/2 game that was pretty sad looking. Table had 4 people when I showed up half an hour before tourney started and they didn't get more than the one table going while I was there.

Now that I am going to be playing more in general, I think I will stop by here a few times and see if games are going. Everything I have read or heard from other players is positive except for the traffic. I know the Horseshoe has a stranglehold on the area, but it would be nice to have another option. I wonder if having Bravo is actually hurting them because when people check before heading out they see there is nothing going on so they dont go as well.

I do see they have a small series coming up and some decent freerolls so i will be checking it out soon

I played in the $50k guaranteed tournament and thought it was very well run. Pretty soft field as well. Registration should still be open for another hour or two from the time of this post. There is a $150 PLO tournament tomorrow night and a seniors event tomorrow.
