I'm originally from Melbourne but was in Adelaide last 3 months for business. I spend 3-4 nights in a week there because of nothing much to do in the temporary life. So I can give pretty detailed information about here.
They have 10 table setup from 1980's furniture and chairs. Opening hours Tuesday to Thursday 6 pm to 3:30 am, Fridays and Saturdays 6 pm to 5:30 am, Sunday-Monday closed?? Only 2/2 and 5/5 no limit games going regularly. Occasionally 1/2 plo going only weekends but I have seen only 4 times in 3 months. In weekdays 2/2 is 2-4 tables, 5/5 is only one table. Weekends 2/2 is starts with 3 table and up to 8 peak during drunk recs. 5/5 is always one table with max. 30 same player pool. I have played mostly 2/2 and maybe 10 times 5/5 during 3 months.
5/5 game is lottery based. Lots of spewy rich Asians gambling with any two cards. Couple of good regs are feeding by them. And there are maybe 4-5 people who are main income is poker. Game is $150-$1000 buy in with 5% rake capped at $20??? Which is more friendly than 2/2
2/2 is different story. Generally omc and clueless regular gambler based. You can see most of them in the pit 1 hour later. Honestly maybe 10 times played with a player who can think beyond level 2. Games are soft. lots of non believers but you need to accept the gambler variance. Weekdays mostly omc's and players from busted daily donkaments. Weekends are more mixed like young student Asians, disgusting wog's, lots of drunks and my favorite brainless bogans. You have to listen the this bull**** table talk because head phones are not allowed????
You need to play real TAG to beat the game and 10% capped at $15 robbery rake. People never respect your raises. You need to make at least $!8-$22 pre flop to get max 2 callers in a 2/2 game. Even weekends that might not be enough
People are chasing any draw to any price cluelessly. Limping with real rubbish like j3o and calling any raise to see the flop. Position awareness 0. Level thinking max 1,5. Sounds amazing isn't it? No, you really need some thinking players at one point to not the go crazy.
They have Tuesday $125 buy in and Wednesday $80 buy in daily donkaments. Thursday and Friday tournaments are satellite for their seasonally cup and yearly championship. Rake is again unbelievably high and blind levels are funny. After first hour you just pushbotting and trying to win a series of coin flip. So I can't say much their tournament player pool but it's slightly better than cash games.
Management are super friendly, as well as dealers. Haven't seen any bad things in fact their hospitality is really running there I reckon.
Negatives :
-No headphones?? Can't use your phone on the table??? No hoodies??? but caps are ok?????
-No food service to tables?? Can't put your drink on the tables??
-Unbeatable rake.
-Clueless mixture of players from all backgrounds.
Positives :
-Friendly staff.
-Left in up as a bankroll by playing well and getting respect as a winning player from staff and the others. (that's for me of course
)
That's from me after roughly 400 hours experience.
