I encourage people playing this weekend's Ante Up main to give the 101 some feedback on their absurdly high rake. I quizzed them on it and their responses were pretty lol. The more people that say something, the better.

DryAngel, not really sure when the 2/5 runs at 101. It is straight NL though.

Might as well drive 10 mins north to Graton Casino and have more games to choose from with a larger player base.

I don't know any hostels in the area, but there is a Good Night Inn right next to Graton that costs about $50-60/night.

Lol, apparently they deleted my Facebook posts where I commented on the rake and had some gimmicky-marketing B.S. replies I called them out on.

To further their shadiness, apparently (according to new structure sheet), they also take 4% of the prize pool for the staff ON TOP of the rake. Just wow.

12% rake is pretty standard in the live tournament world especially when you have 3 day events with good structured very long days.

The Ante Up main event starts today at 6pm.
and tomorrow as well.

Below is a link to the structure sheet and all the fine print:

http://t.co/AXLxifTZ81

yes 4% is slightly higher then 3%, but with the dealers making approx $3 PER HOUR after you factor in tip compliance and they do not make any tips dealing tournament tables... except if the winners tip at the end, but unfortunately sometimes the 1st place player tips $15 on a 5 figure score... It's not a good situation.

I am a huge fan of this format and structure and will be there supporting The 101 Casino.

They have a player of the series points leaderboard with prizes and some other quite juicy cash games have been running since the tournaments started. 2/5 nl and 2/5 plo on the regular

Tomorrow 4/22/14 (and every thursday after that) The 101 Casino is hosting:

The world's first live progressive bounty tournament! $120 buy in, each player you knockout has a bounty that starts at $20 and increases progressively--with every player you bust, your bounty also increases by $20.

The number of mtts they are hosting at the 101 casino is awesome all with really good structures, different formats, and a range of buy ins

Tue 4/22 - $120 Progressive Bounty - 6:30pm

Thur 4/24 - $80 Mega satellite to the Super Stack Tournament - 6:30pm

Fri 4/25 - $240 Super Stack Tourney Day 1A - 11:00am

Sat 4/26 - $240 Super Stack Tourney Day 1B - 11:00am

12% of each day will come back on Sunday at 12:00pm to play for $10k guaranteed to 1st place.

This event has an amazing structure and had it's premiere last month where it drew 144 entrance. I think it might draw more this month, they are running satellites and we shall see.

Babies, are you the one operating the 101 facebook page? It's obv u r a shill of some sort. What is the rake on these? 15% and another fine print 5% for the staff? Tell 101 to quit raping the player. Also, put a guarantee on the prize pool and not marketing gimmick 1st place guarantee with 2nd getting 1/3 the top prize and everyone else pennies.

I helped create the structure for these tournaments. I choose to play at the 101 casino, because I love tournaments, and they run the ones I like to play.

The prizepool is guaranteed $22k minimum (last month was over $30k) in the end-of-the-month super stack tournament, 1st prize is guaranteed as well at $10k minimum.

You have many choices as to where to play. The 101 Casino has the best structured tournaments in the bay area, and is transparent with their structure sheets and schedules, always showing rake and entry fee. The players are noticing and keep coming back. Play well and have fun.

If you have any more questions for me feel free to message me or you can find me this Friday playing the super stack tournament and hopefully Sunday if I make day 2 and get to play it out for the big bucks!

The 101 is spreading 1/3 NL all the time.. It mostly runs on tournament days, but sometimes on the weekends too.

I believe starting next week they will be having a promo to reward tournament players for playing cash before or after the tournaments... Something to the extent of 1k bonus chips for every 2 hours of play which is good to use in any tournament... and 1 item off the player's menu for free with 1 hour of play on any tournament day.

2/5 PLO runs every monday and wednesday afternoon, and even though this is a mighty slow time for all live games outside of vegas I think with the perks and the push for more players the 1/3 will run pretty regularly.

Sorry was slightly unclear in previous message... 1/3 NL pretty much runs exclusively before and after tournaments and will sometimes run on the weekends.

It might run more with the new promotions for tourney players to play cash, but who knows.

Today was a crazy day at the 101! All afternoon and evening they spread 3/6 & 4/8 LHE, 4/8 O8, 1/3, 2/5, & 5/10 NL, and 2/5 PLO in the VIP room. This was also the premier of their Wednesday night turbo tournament ($55+5) which like all their dailies started at 6:30pm.

The Wednesday night turbo tournament had 27 entries and paid 3 spots. Final numbers were
1st - $720
2-4 chopped at $240 each
Leaderboard points awarded to the 10handed FT. (All of their tourneys are 9handed, except the FT which is 10 handed obv)

This is good news, I'd love to continue having two places to play in Sonoma County.

How is the action in their 1/3 and 2/5 NLHE games? I have not been there since Graton opened. Prior to that, those games seemed pretty tough simply due to the grinding regs in that place. Are they still allowing a 200BB buy-in on these limits? Have the games softened up a bit or is it the same crowd?

Since Graton opened The 101 has become much slower, but when games do get cracking I find they are much softer.

$1/3 and $2/5 NL usually run before and after the tournaments (5 days a week)

$2/5 PLO runs Mon and Wed starting at 4pm.

$1/2 PLO runs Saturday starting at 4pm before and after the HA tournaments at 6:30pm $60 buy in 1/2 NL, 1/2 PLO.

$4/8 LHE and O8 runs 7 days a week, and even tho those games are quite beatable, I prefer the big bet games like NL and PLO. They have some good promotions for tournament and cash games players, best casino food I've ever had, and the games ain't bad either.

Yea, I have had some meals there and it's tough to beat. In regards to the 1/2 and 2/5 running before/after tourneys, do they break up those games for the tournament to run or are they typically running during tourney times?

And do they still have the 'must move' table? I never understood why they do that.
101 Casino (Petaluma, CA) Quote

No more must moves to my knowledge. Cash games usually run through the entire tourney. If they do break it's only for an hour at the most. Then an even better game forms full of tourney bustouts.

Maybe I'll see you down there, in playing the $105+15 tourney tonight at 6:30pm

2Pair Poker tour is coming back to the 101 casino in 1 week.

Here is a link to the thread:

Last time 2Pair hosted an event at the 101 casino the main event drew approx 300 entries with over $20k going to 1st place. The winner was a dealer at the 101 casino!

Can anyone comment on the NL 1/3 at 101 vs. the NL 1/3 at Graton? As far as waits, level of play, rake, anything else worth noting? Thanks
101 Casino (Petaluma, CA) Quote

1/3 NL is always better at 101 vs Graton and has lower rake.

With that being said... 1/3 NL only runs before and after tournaments at 101 basically in the late afternoon early evening 5 days a week. (tourneys are at 6:30pm)

So graton always has a game, but 101 generally has better games IMO...

101 tends to get good PLO cash mon-wed which will often also start good NL cash ... check online or call them to see.
