What are the best ways to get to Oceans 11 without a car?

The train station isn't too far of a walk. If you live in North County the Sprinter is a good option, but I think the last train leaves around 9pm.

borrow someone else's car. this is california.

depending on where you're starting, look into the coaster, then cab it or walk from the oceanside station.

any other 2/3 or 5/5 regs here?
2/3 is my game of choice now at O11. I think it is the best mix of skill vs fish. Will try to go tomorrow

Thursday afternoon we got a 5-10 NLHE game going ($500-$3,000 buy-in), and it ran for a good while.

5-5ers who would like a bit more action, please get your name on the board for 5-10 interest.

Would love to get this to go regularly!

We had a great turnout on Friday night, with two full tables
of 1/2 and a full table (with waiting list) of 1/1. Let's do it again
Sunday night! After all, for many of us there's no school or work on
Monday!!!

Hope to see you there!

I'm me. Who r u?
Busted the tourney after getting 90% of my chips in pre with 99 v 44. He shoved I called. Would have been chip leader at my table and well above avg with 85 people left.

Got the PLO game going tho so it wasn't a total failure.

Does 1/1 PLO play with only blue chips or do red chips also play? Is this game played in tournament room or main room?

get there before 4pm on fridays to make sure you are in the first group of 9 players or risk waiting and waiting and waiting.

the 1/1plo plays just like you would expect a smaller stakes game to play: less aggressive pre, less aggressive post, some occasional head scratcher plays. in general a pretty low stress game. last night i had to literally blind raise from any and all positions to get some money in the pot. they just continued to limp on the button, CO, etc. normally in a larger stakes game i rarely raise from out of position, but i didn't think i was giving up very much at all there.

it is played in the tournament room with mostly blue chips to try to attract casual blue-chip players, though i think the later it gets, the better it is to have red chips on the table. it takes way too frickin long to count out 37 and 83 blue chips.
the board is listed in both room i believe.

I'm going to be in CA for a golf tournament in Palm Springs later this month. I'm flying into LAX and driving to PS. But I've got several days for friends, family and poker b4 the tourney starts.

Drive from LAX to OC? Typical time after 9PM?
What's the typical drive time from Oceanside to P Springs?
I see that the Pines to Palms Hwy seems to be the most direct route. Correct?

Depends where in OC. Disneyland? About 35 minutes.

You might want to look at poker in Palm Springs - Morongo and/or Agua Caliente have decent rooms.

The drive from Oceanside to Palm Springs is probably somewhere in the 1 1/2 hour range.

I'd say O11 to palm springs is about 1.6 hrs. Never heard of the pines to palms hwy. Is that some name given by out of towners to I-10?
Lax isn't that far from OC (the north side), but it would take > an hour to get to southern OC.

LOL. Palm to Pines is the 74 through Hemet. That would definitely be the slow way there.

1/1 game is fun for sure but the gas money it takes to get up there and back from mission valley/Hillcrest area where I live really sucks. The rake isn't what beats you at this game (though at 3 bucks drop + 1 buck jackpot it sucks too) it's the commute!

But the game is great and very fun. Lots of characters there to just have a good time. Wide mix of players and lots of different tables.

I know it wasn't the point of your post, but just for those who haven't played it, there was no jackpot drop on Friday when I played and I got the impression this was the standard. A very obnoxious regular named Brian said it had something to do with the O8 players complaining when the bigger PLO game won a jackpot.
