I plan on attending today for the PLO at O-11, I will definitely sit in one of the games, either the 1-1 or 1-2 game. I know of at least 7 others that are coming up for the 1-1 game, looks like for sure there will be one table maybe 2 going around dinner time. Hopefully, we can get this 1-1 game going on a daily basis.

Bout time we got our own thread (good call chili).

Thx for the info on the 1-1 PLO, I think it's a great idea to get some fresh action involved, also great job on placing it in the tourny room (whose ever idea that was). Iv played the 1-2 PlO a few times here and there, but I can see how new players can be intimidated, b/c the game can plays super deep. Can't wait to hear about everyone jaming the river with lone ace of clubs on four flush for value

I love the 8/16 LHE and O8 games.

i supported the start up of the new 1-1 plo game on friday night and it was fun. there were 2 full games for many hours with a majority of new players in the game.

we'd like to try to get the game going more than just friday nights, so if you have a preference, post it on up. there is also a google email group* that anyone can sign up for where people communicate about the game and when it might be played.

* search for google email groups, then oceans 11 plo.

Planning to hit up Oceans 11 a lot more. Can't stand playing 50bb deep so it looks like the first game I'll be jumping into is the 2/3 game. I can't imagine there are many decent players in that game on weekends?

Can someone tell me how often/how many tables of 5/5 are usually going?

Going to be in town next week and planning on making the drive up on Friday.
Does the 40 game run regularly? Is the 8/16 O8 game also a regular game and is it the typical lower level passive game, or is it more aggressive than average?
Also will probably play some PLO.

daily there will be between 2-4 games going at any time, usually with a must move system in place. the evenings seem to be busiest. and tuesdays and fridays are probably the highest traffic nights of the week as the 10-20 (no max) runs those days.

the 40-80 does not run every day. i don't play LHE, but i would guess it runs 2-3 days/nights per week. the 8/16 O8 game is not a regular game. there are several people who would love to get it going though, so don't be afraid to put your name up on the list. there is a 4/8 O8 game with 2-3 games running daily. and yes those games are primarily filled with retirees.

both plo games will be running on fridays, including tonight.

updates for the 1-1 plo that will go tonight:

- $3 drop + no jackpot drop !
- comped food was a limited time offer for the first night (last week) per O11 management
- dealers have been briefed and updated on this game
- both the boards in the tournament room and the front room will show the list for the 1-1 plo game

the 1/2/5 plo will also be in full force tonight so come on out!

Thanks. Since there are no threads about other SD poker rooms, I assume this is the best room in the area for 5/5+?

i don't get to play very often during the day on the weekends, but i was able to yesterday and went down to O11 to try out the deep stack tourney that they started a couple months ago. except yesterday they were holding their monthly "freeroll" tourney for regular players. free, except for the $25 fee, of course. $10,000 prize pool. 187 players. chopped it 6 ways with the chip leader getting a bit more (it was a shove on every hand. i was 2nd in chips and had 6.5 BBs). free (=$25) ===> $1100+ is not a bad return!

Went to O11 last night and tried to get into the 2-3NL game ... new table opened and I still ended up waiting around so I jumped into a 2-2NL game which has a max buy-in of 50bb. Basically the game played like 10nl or 25nl online, with guys donking flops with top pair or overplaying TPTK at showdown. The game is obv streaky but juicy ... had a couple of funny hands ... but overall a good time had.

Nice score, it was a madhouse in the morning at the start. How long did it run?

Oh and is O11 the capital of old ladies playing 8 16 with lots of dough and no clue? On river Over over calls with 44, a complete underpair, then a few hands later mucks KK on 96544 for 1 bet HU in a 10 BB pot.

we chopped about 2:45pm-ish, so not quite 5 hours. i didn't sign up til about 10:30 (2.5 hrs sleep ftw!), a la phil hellmuth.

and no is the answer to your second question. i've played in lots of places and i've seen old ladies flat call the river with the stone nuts many many times. in fact one recently was a 8-16 limit holdem game (not oceans 11) where the lady on the button turned a straight flush that could not possibly be beat. her opponent c/c'ed the turn, but then bet the river. the lady with the straight flush FLAT CALLS ON THE RIVER AND SAYS, "YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT SHE'S UP TO OVER THERE. SHE'S BEEN PLAYING ALL KINDS OF STUFF." her opponent had Jc4h for a jack high flush on a four flush board.

and yes, this lady is wealthy.

Keeps low stakes fish happy. Can only lose max of $40 in a hand. They can play for a couple hours with $200 instead of just one hand. Same type of structures in the lower stakes at most So Cal casinos.

I dunno I thought oceans was pretty easy but the last 3 weeks i'm down about 7 buyins or $2100 at 2/3NL.

Only one of the buyins has been tilt where I got top set in vs nut straight in a limped pot. Playing pretty tight but about worst 2,500 hands (8 hours X 10 days X 30 hands/hr) I've logged.

any other 2/3 or 5/5 regs here?
