I really hope this room succeeds as I think it is easily the nicest looking room in AC. Non-adjustable chairs need to be replaced ASAP though. I am 5'8'' and I thought they were a bit too low for my own tastes.

I called the room a couple times in the past week, - at no time was there a game going on.

I haven't bothered going there for fear of this making it a wasted trip. They really should hire some prop players to keep at least 1 game running at all times so anyone wanting to check out the room will know there's a game.

Prop players aren't legal in AC.

I do hope this room does well. They may need to step it up and get some regulars before Revel opens in couple weeks.

Ah, I didn't know this then they definitely need to run some better promotions a really big GTRD hour based freeroll might work.

PA Sands opened with 3+ hr waits on 12 tables. How much improvement can this room expect? If you want to compete with Borgata across the street you better offer more than free food!

Just checked out that room pic. Are those non-adjustable chairs? If so, I'm not a fan.

I dropped in on this room late one night last week and was very impressed with it. As mentioned by others the staff is very friendly and skilled. The decor is great. And the food is good. I'm pretty sensitive to cigarette smoke but barely noticed it while I was there (and the smoke problem should be taken care of soon, anyway).

There wasn't a customer in sight when I arrived at 11:00 PM but I took a chance and waited. Within about 15 minutes two more players wandered in so we and a dealer sat at a table hoping for more to come. Within a few more minutes we had another couple of players and got a game going that lasted more than 3 hours, which considering it was the middle of the night, was pretty good.

So, if you are in the area I recommend you give the room a try. And if there are no games running stick around and help get one going. You'll be glad you did.

played in a game Friday night, 9 pm, full 1-2 table w/ list, game was excellent (outrageous loose action), dealers competent, food platter (+1), drink service quick, floor friendly, there are several events in February worth promoting including tournaments (2/18-19) win a free buffet hot seat day (2/17-19), and win trip to las vegas (& various prizes 2/17-19) ... for more info e-mail: poker@goldennugget.com

I just received an email from them. It looks like they are trying to get some guaranteed $10K and $2K tournaments going.

25,000 chips for $160 with 30 min levels 10k guaranteed sounds worth the trip for me

From the sounds of the past few comments, i would guess there will have to be a nice overlay for Saturday's tournament? Anyone agree... If so, maybe i'll make a trip

that is a good tourney but the biggest problem for me is that it runs up aganst the Delaware Park deep stack weekend

DP has almost the same tourney this Saturday for $150.00 buy-in with a $30.00 9:00am satellite

going to DP is a no-brainer for me even though i live in South Jersey and it is 50 miles to either AC or DP

I normally play at Del Park myself, but don't you think it may be worth the drive if they only get 50 runners? If there is a huge overlay, it would be less competition for a solid payout. I can't see them getting 100 players based on prior comments in this thread.

you are taking a big gamble IMO for 50 people to show up at the Golden Nugget this Saturday

at DP, i bet 275 to 325 show up this Saturday (maybe even more)

if it was another Saturday, i would definitely check the GN out, this is just poor planning IMO

Uncapped 1/2?!?!?! Tempting...

Does anyone really buy in deep on weekends or is it a typical 1/2 table ~100bb average?

Also, anyone know if their 24k comp card can be used in Vegas also?

TIA

I think your estimate sounds about right. But it is deep stack weekend, so I can always play Del Park on Sunday, and I'm betting the turnout is just as big Sunday.

Guess i'm searching for some AC regs opinion's. Sound like there are not GN regs, but appreciate your comments

I am hoping for a nice overlay at the nugget this weekend. Based upon the fact that this tournament hasn't been advertised at all, I just heard of it yesterday. Plus with the del park deep stack the same day I can see the nugget barely reaching 100, factoring the amount of people chasing the bbj at the borgata but then again it's presidents weekend and a lot of the hotels are either sold out or overly priced. Worth the shot for me.

I don't think i'll be able to get down there this weekend but the flyer says they'll be running it for the next 4 weeks. I might try and get down one of those weekends as the structure is awesome and could be a small turnout

I agree, I'm seriously contemplating it...Your comment on it being President's Day weekend can only help bring in some 'dead money' to this tournament. If you definitely play in this Saturday, please post the number of runners. I may play Del Park on Saturday and stop down Sunday to play in the smaller tourney, up in the air right now.....

Yea presidents weekend would bring dead money but I was factoring that in not from that standpoint but from a standpoint of reaching their guarantee or not. Definitely will update on amount of runners etc. if I go, about 90% sure I am though.
