Well you should already know by now (Monday) but yes, cash does run during the 120/240 normal Sunday tournaments ... usually 3-5 tables.

Population? Mostly right-handed, but some left-handers as well .. GL

Alright wiseguy...thanks for the info. Didnt actually make it sunday, ended up playing this past friday and Saturday...the worst run in my 10 or so years. Brutal bad cards, where I lost multiple buyins all on the river or even worse, turn plus river. Variance is a bear, so life goes on.

Small note to the MSPT schedule ... The Thursday Main Event is starting at Noon instead of 400 as before. They will be running a Turbo $250 ME Satty both Thursday and Friday nights now also. This should spur on another great night of cash on Thursday as well with the bustouts coming a little earlier in the evening now.

This room is always thinking .. tweaking things a little bit but never too much IMO. GL

Honestly I love this room. Takes a little over an hour to get there for me, but the dealers the floor and frankly the amazing air cleaning system make it worth it 100 percent. Its such a good room.

They had a 2/5 going on Sunday from 2PM til ?? There was no list (and 8-handed) at 7PM though so I stayed local. No PLO with only 3 on the list at that time. Only one 1/2 was going at 2AM Monday.

Count down to MSPT has started ... save your pennies for extra cash game action on all 4 of those days that weekend!! GL

FK $400 this Sunday .. over $100K pool w $30K-ish up top.

BBJ hit on the 20th, so down to $20K

From watching Bravo there seems to be a MSPT withdrawl as the cash games aren't going as late into the night. See how it goes tonight being Thursday .. not sure if I will make it that far away tonight. GL

Word on street has them holding a high dollar Bounty on President's Day weekend. Not sure any details, even which day. There is nothing on their website or Bravo as of yet either, but a very reliable reg was talking about it ... I just don't remember all the details. GL

Sorry, off topic but: Hey answer, do you know of any charity rooms up around Manistee or Ludington? Or any decent website for locating charity rooms? For whatever reason, they are hard to track down on just Google.

The best way to find any charity room poker in Michigan is the Millionaire Party Locator (Google that, it's hard to find on the Michigan.gov website) and you then enter either a city or county of your choosing from the list. It will display all the issued licenses for that area. Only cities and counties that actually have 'events' going on are in the drop down lists. Also, just remember that the time on the license may not match the actual hours of the locations. GL

OK .. Very nice of FKeepers to get back to me via Twitter ... @answer20more

1) 5th Sunday tournaments this year will now be $500 .. The first one is April 29th. Looks like they still start at 1000 AM, register early!!

2) Feb 18th (Sunday) they will have a $350 ($100 Bounty) tournament instead of the $120 at 1100 AM. 20K in chips (Presidents Day thing since they think folks may have Monday off)

3) Feb 19th (Monday) they will somehow be giving away $100 every 30 minutes starting at 1100 AM in the poker room.

4) Their BBJ is getting close to room share, $75K, which always adds to the excitement in that room. GL

Good showing in the $240 on Sunday with over 100 entries. I think it was just under $6k for 1st. Not sure how it went down as it was still 4-handed when I left around 8PM.

We got a 2/5 going just after I busted tourny (19th, no cheese) and it was a crazy table for maybe 2 hours. Player ran 300 up to 1200 down to 100 up to 800 and then busted in less than 2 orbits! GL

As of February 1st you can no longer use cash at the poker tables. They are stating it has to do with Federal regulations regarding potential of counterfeit bills.

I believe you also have to go to the cage for your re-buys ... That will cause some players to walk out rather than stay at the table when they tilt!! GL

A little extra in your poker weekend!!

1) Sunday's tournament is a $350 'total' but includes a $100 Bounty. This should fill the room and may shut down cash for a couple of hours. It starts at 1100, which is a different starting time for most tournaments. Registration is already open and should fill well before an hour of starting time.

2) Monday (President's Day) they are giving away $100 to a random seat in the poker room every 30 minutes starting at 1100 AM through 1100 PM. You just have to be playing poker and logged into the Bravo system at your table. I don't think you need a Player's Card unless you win, but I don't think I would take that chance. GL

I didn't make the drive on Thursday. I had called down and found that I didn't really need to as Sunday's tournament was only at about 30 at that time. My (now) normal Thursday game was a little thin as well and I didn't want to hurt it by not showing up.

Sunday was super weird ... woke 'wide' up at 445 AM fired up for a day of poker. So I get up and hit the road.
1) The PLO was still going from Saturday night, but only 3-handed and quickly dispersed.
2) A 'kid' at the 1-2 had about 2000 in front of him. He ran it up even more while I played waiting for the tournament. He ran it up even more during the tournament and cashed out once the UofM hoops game was over ... about $4000. Apparently this guy was part of a group that played during college but hadn't played in a while .. put in almost 24 hours!! Hope he got home all right ...

3) Bounty pretty much sucked for me. Got good cards early but no payoffs. Got bluffed off an Ace when a guy triple barreled into a J4J55 Board and I had a guy behind me that flatted Pre, Flop and Turn as well .. They both had an Ace! Perfect OMC on my right was pot betting everything. We get into it SB v BB and I Flop 2-pair, he pots Flop and I flat. He pots Turn and I put him all-in and he hit his kicker on the River. Then I have 89s and shove from SB into 88T and get called by QQ .. he runner runner 4-flushes me on my way.

4) Great showing by GR area players with the winner (no chopping with this guy) and a 4th. Winner had 33% of the chips with 13 to go and ended up with 19-20 bounties along the way .. winning had was 2-4o!

5) Cash games were great at all tables, very loud and lots of action that I saw and heard. A 'semi' slow roll that turned ugly slowed down the PLO game with about $18K getting up and leaving due to how the Floor handled it. It was blown out of proportion by both sides I think but luckily the feeder table and list were able to keep the game running past Midnight.

5) I talked to the Floor a little later about it and explained that I think the two previous Dealers at the table actually added to the tension at the table and 'contributed' to the incident. The fact that Firekeepers has been implementing (or actually just enforcing) a lot of rules lately (mainly no phones w a live hand) has some of the players on edge. But we had been rolling along very nicely with players talking HU, straddling 'during' the deal and the game having more of a 'home' game feel to it. Then at shift change we got a couple of 'rules Dealers' in the box and they really took the air out of the balloon IMO.

Not knowing what they discuss in their Dealer's or Floor's meetings I shouldn't really judge one way or another .. I pretty much know the Dealers and have come to expect certain things from each one. As a player you need to adapt. All I asked for was that they let the Dealer's know to give the 'red chip' games a little more leeway when it comes to some of the rules ... or make sure that there is consistent enforcement along the way. Obviously they want the latter for 'control', but you also have the expectations that you allow your larger customers a bit more wiggle room. I could go on and on but not really say anything 'new' ... GL

I've definitely noticed more rules absolutism at firekeepers. Things like people calling and not realizing it's raised and being forced to leave their call out. There's no angle shooting going on, and all it does is force people to focus on the game more, which I don't necessarily want. I'd rather they be watching netflix on their phone, as long as they don't slow the game down unbearably.

One hand recently, that paid off quite well for me, but I still disagreed with the ruling. It's a 7-way limped pot. As the action gets to the BB, he's got two white chips out. The waitress shows up with his drink. His only two white chips are in the BB. He puts out a red chip and pull back his white so he can tip the waitress a buck. I honestly am not sure which he did first, but it was a pretty quick move either way. He wants to check his option, but the dealer calls the floor. The floor rules it a binding raise.

I thought it was BS, but I ended up winning the pot on the flop when it came Q34, and it checks to me on the BTN and I bet my QTo and somehow take it down on the flop.

This was definitely in the last two weeks. I'm playing a bit more lately, usually weekday evenings. As of right now there is about a 50/50 chance I'm there on a random weeknight between 8:30 - 11:00. I've played the last few nights, including Sunday night I showed up right after the BBJ hit. I got seated at the table that hit it, and the play was pretty wild. A couples guys were playing every hand for any price. I've picked a good time to go on a heater.

As for that hand I thought it was a bit odd that the dealer immediately called the floor, and the floor man didn't even hesitate to call it a binding raise despite a few of the players lobbying that his intent to check was very clear, and just needed singles for the drink tip. I remember everyone calling the raise including the small blind who went all-in for $5 more. I felt a warning would have been appropriate given there was no angle intended or even gained there. I think it's good for the game when they give rec players who "misclick" and undo option.

I just missed the room share as I arrived a bit late. I thought it was odd I had to wait 30 minutes for a seat on Sunday night. AK vs 44 on an AK4A4 runout. Got seated at the table that hit as play reopened. I never saw the 34k winner. The 17k winner came back but was unsurpisingly not focused. The rest of the table got splashy with their 3k table share, so a good time was had by all.

DANGER .. DANGER .. Word of mouth has a poker room going into the old Johnny Rocket's spot at Gun lake in Wayland 'soon'. There might be some poker promo wars a-coming in early 2019!! GL
