Just drove by today and the place looked pretty busy with a cop out front. From what i gathered online this is touted as the largest Pokerpro cardroom. That's right, all electronic tables! Anyone get there our plan on being there this weekend? i wouldn't mind a viable option to the Shoe.

Not sure of county as I dont know Cleveland that well, but Buckeye is 1 mile off of exit of I-90 and Bishop road. parking right at front door.

I know you all have had a variety of experiences with charity operators over the last few decades , but I can say with certainity that these guys are 100% legit. This is a beautiful room that will be here for a long long time.

Games are choppy now because they just opened, but after a month of or so, Im pretty sure you will get all the .25/.50 PLO, 1/2PLO 3/6Limit and 1/2 NL you want $4 rake. bigger games on weekends. 100Max player tourney everynight at 7PM.

Finally, I can say because I have first hand experience in this room, the appropriate and expected amounts of money are in fact going to the charities

It is right off 90 east at the bishop road exit. The drive from where you're at would be the same as if you were driving to downtown Cleveland, just about 20 minutes shorter.

I was able to check this place out for myself yesterday and I'll write up a full TR in the next day or two. Have to sayi really like the place and impressed with the Poker pro tables.

I've played the pokerpro tables before, and I like them. Although, I have to say I've always been in the minority with that opinion. I especially like them for tournaments. Bottom line is that the action is faster. You see twice as many hands/hour than you do with a live dealer. We would do a 45-50 person tourney every wednesday night 2.5 hours. Four dollar max rake for cash games is also sweet.

I can see how it would be good for tournaments, but as far as cash games go it was a pretty big let down.

Positives:
+ The room itself is nice and open
+ There is a giant projection screen in the room which can be viewed from just about anywhere
+ There are free drinks / snacks
+ The waitresses are friendly / quick
+ Speed of game (solely with respect to the actual dealing of cards, flops, etc)

Negatives:
- It doesn't seem like a nice area (I could be wrong, I live in the burbs)
- No action at all whatsoever (felt like a .25/.50 game)
- People played extremely slow
- No game selection (stakes, game type - There was only 1 table of 1/2 running 7 handed
- There is no dealer to uphold the integrity of the game (people talking about the board, or what a player might have)
- The tables themselves made the game feel less sociable
- At first impression the day to day personnel don't seem to very knowledgeable about the poker industry as a whole

Overall, the negatives outweigh the positives pretty heavily and I doubt I'd ever go back. I'll keep my play at Rivers for now.

Also please rem that Buckeye is supporting lots of local cleveland charities. This will of course matter to some more than others.

15 Players paid creating a $2,750 overlay.

Guess NE Ohio Players didnt think they would actually pay, well they did. They will continue to pay any tournament with a guarantee of which there will be plenty each week

2nd $1,000
1st $ 2,000 (I think 1st and 2nd chopped)

20% of prize pool always to charity, rest to players

Same deal next Sat but at 7PM instead of 2PM - $150 with 5K Gtd prizepool. There is talk of a $500 on Sat at 2PM. Check schedule on Monday for that and tourny schedule for other tournaments each nite at 7PM

I've had the chance to play here a few times now. I have only played tournaments and I think this is the best way to run tournaments bar none.

For someone comfortable on a computer playing poker, this interface is pretty easy to pick up and understand almost naturally. I really enjoy all the available statistics and other functions that just aren't available in a more standard live card room, but can understand the over load to someone not accustomed to so much poker stats.

The room is just over a week old now and I feel that it is a very real alternative to the Shoe for tournaments of a lower buy in with a decent structure and sensible starting time. The few times I've been there I have only seen cash go once which is a shame because of the ability to play so many more hands and the range of games able to be played easily and dealt mistake free is awesome.

The play here has been pretty soft and there is a good ability to make money with some of the dead money that wanders in. Me included

The schedule for tournaments this week as far as I understand it will be similar to last weeks schedule which I've included; I apologize for the cell phone pics but my scanner isn't saving files properly so it is all I have




All in all I really enjoy this place and will continue to show my support and spread the word as much as I can in hopes this can take off. There seem to be some really good guys in charge and I think this can both be a benefit to local poker players, but also a great fundraiser for local charity.

I visited yesterday afternoon, arriving about 4pm and played 1-2NL and .25-.50 PLO, which plays about as big as 1-2NL. I've been a fan of the poker pro machines for a couple of years, but I know from talking to many brick/mortar players that I'm in the minority. Buckeye is in a storefront building within a suburban shopping center. Upon entering, my immediate thought was Vegas Sportsbook as the first thing that grabs your attention is the huge screen showing NFL football. Instead of theater seating in front of the screen, however are what looked to be about 20 poker pro tables. There are several other smaller but nicely placed televisions so that multiple games can be shown. The place is nice. All they need is more players and more action. Poker pro tables have to be a superior solution for players in charity rooms than having to deal with volunteer dealers. Early rating is two thumbs up--lets see if they can get some action going. Had 3 tables last night for $10rebuy, first place paid just under$500. There were two cash games going as well. Room is gaining traction and id like to see the growth continue obviously. Diversity is good in any market and buckeye is a nice change from the shoe

Is there a difference between regular 1/2 NL and action 1/2 NL besides a $50 vs $60 minimum buy in?

Also why would there be a maximum buy in for LHE?

The .25/.50 PLO is already running daily.

I played the $20 rebuy tonight. I only played for around 70 mins, got coolered right after the rebuy ended.

The place was nice, there is a lot of room between the tables because the room is very large. It's nice but it also makes you pretty far away from all of the TVs so they seem small. There is one big projector though. Free water and soda, there was some type of free food like hotdogs or something.

The cashier appeared to be getting trained so it took longer than it shoud and when registering for the tournament at the desk they were double checking something with the tournament so people couldn't register right away. The place is new though so I'd expect this to get a lot better.

The tournament started a little late, there were around 10 people registered around starting time. It started with 21 players and there were 2 who bought in late at my table (not sure about the other 2 tables). Was probably around 15 mins, I didn't look at the time so I'm just guessing.

There were a few times when people weren't paying attention when it was their turn. The other players always said something but not immediately, they are a lot more patient than a real dealer would be. There were a few times when people were talking about their hands after they folded and the flop came. Not saying anything specific just that they would have hit something.

Dermen. thanks for playing and taking the time to post a TR. We ended up with 26 players for last Thursdays 7PM $20 Rebuy. Total prize was just under $1100 (first was ~$440)

Today, Sat 9/22 at 7PM sharp is the weekly $150 with a $5K guarantee. I am actually playing in that with a pretty good bounty on me (Buckeye paid $3000+ overlay in this tourny last week and will do it again if required)

Yes, understand your point about the starting stacks for $10 Rebuy. We'll get feedback from players tonight and see if they like the new 1500 starting stacks are the 2500. The Thursday $20 rebuy is starting at 2500. The Freezeouts are 5,000 10,000 or the Deepstack 15,000.

The rest of the 7PM Daily Tournaments are freezeouts with a few new Bounty Tournaments, $50 PLO Each Wednesday, and of course the $150 $5K on Sat, which will hopefully soon be a $10K Guarantee.

Thanks to all for continuing to support the opening and growing business at Buckeye.

Aside from normal cash games.... the .25 / .50 PLO is running almost everyday now. I played in it last night. two words A BLAST !!! Once that game has multiple tables everyday... we plan to start a 6MAX 1/2 PLO.

Anyone playing the midnight mayhem tournament tonight? Special bounty on espn Cleveland radio personality whose name escapes me right now. Anyone have an idea?

I checked this room out last night (10/12/2012). Heard they have been open for about a month. I didn't get to the room until about 10:15PM, not very busy. Gentleman at the front desk was very nice, introduced me to the poker pro tables, etc.

I sat down at a 1/2 NL game, it was OK, especially at first, but then got short pretty quickly. Most of the players have been playing a good bit and all had some good idea how to play poker. I finally got up and left just before midnight, as we were really just passing money back and forth and being dwinlded down by the rake.

Being it is about 20 minutes from my house, I'll probably be back, but they need to get some more customers. I woudn't mind playing any kind of micro stakes either.

I did not stay for the midnight tourney as I'm not that big of a tourney player.


All things being equal, I'd still rather play with cards and chips, but rooms like this is where these tables can be a real success. This is also a lot more convienent for me than the Horseshoe, but being an average to below average NL 1/2 player, I need a little better game selection.

We'll see how it grows.
