Where's the threshold Where's the threshold

You are in the hijack with KQo. For the sake of argument let's say everyone has the same amount of bigs and have no overriding numbers in their stats.

At what point does your open shove become a raise fold?

8bb, shove
10bb, shove
12bb, shove??
Etc

Cheers

Reshove ranges of BTN, SB & BB?
Shove-call ranges of BTN, SB & BB?
Raise-call ranges of BTN, SB & BB?
How do they play if they just call our minraise?
Whats the exact situation you are in? (gametype, gamestate)

There is not one simple answer.

I know theres no simple answer that why I said no overriding numbers in the information we have on them. For extra extra simplicity lets say we have no/few hands with the players to act after you. Or they are just standardish TAGs, nothing too alarming.

Were talking say 8dollar 180man turbo, when blind stealing becomes valuable, say final 70.

Would you raise fold from 12? if not where from?

Honestly in a $8 turbo I'd be raise calling to 20bigs.. unless it's against some super nit that's like has like 4% 3bet. KQo is a monster, think about what people will be 3bet jamming. Plenty of suited connectors, K7-8s all kinds of things you dominate

But the thing with this question is that it is extremely player dependant

Really? 20bb at this stage is likely to be quite a big stack with average probably around 13bb. Is it not better to open shove say 10bb as people may not wanna call all in with ace rag but will 3 bet ship for fold eq.

Not saying that's right, just something to consider. Thoughts?

At 12bbs I'd begin to shove, but if villains behind were extremely aggro at 12 I'd still r/c most likely but below that I'm shipping.

These games have become extremely agressive, folding KQo to a 3bet from someone that isn't a total nit is likely a mistake.. against the majority of regs in these games I'd be r/c right up to 20bbs(assuming I opened from late) and might consider folding 15bbs+ to a unknown 3bet jam

Play around with icmizer they give you 3 free calcs a day. Pop in some numbers as if villain was 3betting you and check out your call range. Then try villain is opening and you are 3betting... then you can get a feel as to why I say raise/folding KQO is a mistake
