Ok, since Black Friday, I have not really been able to play any poker. I go to graduate school and can't afford a bankroll big enough to drive to and play in brick and mortar casinos. Recently, I heard about a charity poker room in town that runs games from Thurs-Sun. As I am not from around here and know very few people, I decided to play some poker for low stakes.
Stakes: $20 buy-in + $5 donation (top 2 places paid)
Players: 7/20 (2 table tourney)
Blinds: 1000/2000
Chip stacks:
SB- 20000
BB (Hero)- 9000
UTG- 24000
UTG+1- 14000
Highjack- 12000
Cutoff- 17000
Btn- 24000
UTG opens to 4K. Action folds around to the Hero in the BB. Hero looks down and sees 9
5
. Hero pushes all-in. Hero is called by UTG+1.
What do you all think about this play? I don't really want to shove there, but I have literally no chips from the ridiculously $hitty structure of the $hitty tourney.
