Re: *** Official MTTSNG quick checkup thread ***

We have 25% of our stack in in this spot. My calling rang is A2+K2+Q8+Q5s+J9+J7s+T8+T7s and all one gap suited connectors as well as 98, also calling all PPs. Our equity right now is minuscule. Unless the table is super nitty and we can count on being able to shove our SB or button with FE, we definitely have to call light in the BB.

We are getting almost 2-1 and need roughly 35% equity against his range. Even with a conservative range of ATs+AJ+KJs+KQ+22+ we can call a very wide range (above). Not an ICM issue at all here since our equity is so pow given stack sizes anyways. 92o is a fold though.

Evbb/100 = 4.85 looks fine

Give us SB UO PFR, BU UO PFR, CO UO PFR and perhaps what games you are playing and perhaps more help can be offered.

Re: *** Official MTTSNG quick checkup thread ***

anyone know a way to list how well each hand does against a certain range (in order of equity)?

i want to figure out which hands are good 4b/5b bluffing hands (obv not for sngs!!) against certain ranges, but i don't want to have to keep plugging each hand into stove.

can i do this in wiz by gradually widening the gap between their open/call shove ranges? is there a better way?

i know awice posted something like this in that K8o thread, was just wondering if there's anywhere on the internet that has the same sorta thing.

Don't know, maybe PM him and hopefully he can help.
I'm sure by the sounds of your post you already have a decent idea/have done some research but Axs, suited connectors and pocket pairs are good/have the most equity vs most ranges.. Playing with stove doesnt take long unless you have a LOT of different (and maybe unusual) calling ranges you want to assign. for std JJ+ AKo, TT+ AQs AKo, 99+ AQs AKo, 99+ AQo+, 88+ AQo+ etc it shouldn't be too hard.
paired? add some points. suited? add some points. how connected? the lower the gap the better. how high are the cards? the higher the better usually (over/s to pockets) etc.....

A good 5b hand in particular btw should generally be one that plays well in a 3bet pot too, assuming it's likely/possible villain flats our 3b (rather than just 4b or fold), this is because when if we 5b, unless its a cold 5b it means we 3b to begin with.

Don't think the idea of using wiz is very good especially since we can't specify their specific ranges in the right order etc.

Possible is definitely 100%, (:P)
normal I'm pretty sure it's definitely possible for a winning player. Obviously 200 is considerably more than 100 but I still think it's possible for a winning player.

Just wanted a quick check on this line as I've been out of MTTs for a few months.

Villain is running 38/15 with a 1.3 AF

Obv folding is not an option but should I be setmining here instead of pushing? Or am I just being results orientated that he happened to have a monster here?

Don't post results (flop/turn/river/spoiler)
55 is a bit deep, don't mind a call, don't really mind a shove either I guess, especially because his limp is from CO (later position) so less likely to be a trap..
A9 is gonna be fine vs. most people, you said there are no reads so I'm fine with this. With some reads that a guy is really tight and/or doesn't steal wide you can fold but vs. most people this will be profitable

Re: *** Official MTTSNG quick checkup thread ***

Hey guys, so I've been playing 2.2$ 180-mans and 3.2$ 45-mans recently and while I had a pretty good start, I've lost a ****load of money last 2 days. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my play or if it's just variance... I think I have a pretty good understanding of push/fold ranges and when I review my sessions with SNGwiz I don't make too much mistakes.

When I look at my chip EV graph, I run bad and since I have PT3 and not HEM, I can't see my chip EV adjusted... How close those two are?

Here is my 2 graphs:

So is this standard variance? The thing is I'm losing like 50-100$ every session... if this continues I'll be broke soon (550 BR atm)

Re: *** Official MTTSNG quick checkup thread ***

Hi everybody,
I'm planning to move from HUSNG to MTTSNG. I find 18-man turbo's on stars quite interesting, theres plenty of games running 24/7. What are roughly attainable ROI's for average reg at 7$, 15$, 30$? I'm probably gonna play 7$ for a start. Are those games reg infested a lot? Thank you very much for every advice, appriciate it. kebacek

P.S. I tried to search the forum, but didn't find much.....

18s are fairly reggy from what I've seen but definitely beatable.

Getting it in or folding are both fine, you can get it in because you have great pot odds and you are very short/have no fold equity if you lose this hand. On the other hand obviously BTN is basically all in next hand so your equity as determined by ICM and Nash will be a bit lower than reality.

thanks for the answer . How beatable? Is 5,10 or 20% ROI possible at 7$,15$? I seriously don't have a clue :-(. Please, tell me at least your estimate. It can't me buch different from 45man. Thank you very much man.

    Hi guys,

I have been playing MTTSNGs since last week, mainly mixing a bunch of 18 and 45man at $3.50 BI and majority of 18man at $7, 14 tables at once. I was originally a cash game player and decided to switch due to a -30BI run in October. I understand that my sample size is small, but is my current ROI% and ITM% good enough on average such that it will warrent me focusing on MTTSNGs?

Edit: Just wish to add that I'm only using HEM HUD while playing, and am mainly playing push-fold with no extensive knowledge of ICM and some basic pot odds understanding.

Here are my stats and graph for October, with most games played over last week:

    Heh, thanks.

Yeah as you said the sample size is way too small to be sure about your realistic expectations in the long run, that being said any cash game player with half a clue about tournament games (like a little bit of basic ICM, push theory etc) should have no problems at what you have been playing so far just because of how soft they are. So it depends what your expected hourly was at cash games. But obviously long term you would aim to learn/improve and move up. Would recommend to continue playing, and should definitely do some study (get a study buddy, do some HH reviews/post hands here, use SNG Wizard, coaching/videos maybe, etc). Also maybe pick a format because for most people it's by far best to just play one format, at least when first learning/and a while after until you are really competent. Reason being because the ICM etc and structure in general is pretty different in the formats so learning different ones at the same time isn't the best idea.

"but is my current ROI% and ITM% good enough on average such that it will warrent me focusing on MTTSNGs?"
Don't think short term, think long term. Basically if you work hard, it will for sure be worth it in the long run
