MTT SB vs. BB MTT SB vs. BB

12-15-2011 , 10:25 AM
Starting Pot : $600

Hero is in the small blind with Q5 with $4500(M = 7.5),table folds around to SB.
BB Stack is $3800(M = 6.3).

According to my push bot chart, this is a shove. My M is 7.5 and I can profitably push against a loose player if my M is 9.1 or less.

I end up shoving, the BB snap calls with A3..wtf!?

I feel like an idiot, just gave away most of my chips. Is this the right play though? According to my Push Bot Chart it is.

Thanks

Q5 suited is certainly a correct shove. Q5o depends on your pushbot chart. I'd take opponant reads into account first.

Don't expect people to fold any ace to SB shoves for under 10BB.

Obviously you're nearly always going to be behind when called. The reason a shove is profitable is due to all the times they fold. Winning players actually get their money in bad more often than good for allins.

what makes it profitable is all the times they fold plus the times they call and you have 40% ish against A3o
