IM PLAYING ON A VERY SOFT SITE, A THIRD OF THE PLAYERS DONT BUY THE ADDON WHEN THEY PLAY THE REBUY ADDON TOURNAMENTS, IS IT WORTH IT TO PLAY THIS TOURNAMENT FROM THE START, OR DO I LATE REG ON THE LAST MINUTE? 1500 CHIP REBUY 2500CHIP ADDON WHEN ANTES COME IN (75/150 LEVEL, 1 HOUR OF PLAY). I FIND MYSELF PLAYING SO NITTY WITHOUT ANTES THAT I FEEL ITS NOT WORTH PLAYING BEFORE ANTES COME AT ALL.

You have posted this in completely the wrong place. This is a multi table sit and go section. Literally our tournaments start when field is full to capacity (baring the odd exception). We cant reg late and this is not a consideration for mtsng players.

I do play MTT's on some weak sites though. So I will give my feedback.

You should in my opinion play as early as possible. and not late reg I will number my reasons as there is a few.

1. You are playing vs a weak field so presumably have edge at all stack depths. There is greater opportunity to outplay villains with greater effective stack sizes. ( even if your deepstack game is poorer then your push/ fold late game it is still an opportunity to press an edge and if no such edge exists how are you going to develop one without ever playing with a deeper effective stack size)

2. Allows the development of reads, player profiling and gathering info via hud.

3. You being tight as you say in the early game will give greater fe on your shoves and 3bet shoves later as you have been observed to be tight ( I'm assuming your tag)

4. it depends on the tournament structure but if we put ourselves in a position to sometimes build a big stack early, we can use our stack effectively to bully the table. ( there is a lot more to this but would make this post very long.)

5. you say your playing nitty early (which may be a good strategy for you)but you may be missing out on some opportunities. exploiting these can only be possible if you have a seat.

anyway you get my drift. Try the MTT forum for more feedback, but you will get more feedback if you don't use all caps, which is kind of hard to read and some don't like it.

Welcome back Cactu.

It think it depends on a lot of factors. Generally if the chips are that far out of whack then you should reg late add-on.

Consider 3 players A-B-C, each buys in for $20. Player A stacks player B who does not rebuy. Players A and C add on.

C has 4000 chips for $40
A has 5500 chips for his $40 plus the $20 of equity won from C.

C's stack is worth $42.1 under winner takes all. A's stack is worth $57.9.

The clash of A vs B ($20 risked to win 15.8) was comparable to a bubble factor of 1.27 even assuming winner takes all and given some payout structure you could add another 0.1 even this far from the money. Given the rules allow you to sit out without paying blinds you should do it and let the others put in money getting fewer chip than the money is worth.

If the tournament is genuinely soft then it might be best to play early anyway though.

BTW do "on demand" tournaments belong here? Obviously we can late reg those.
