2 questions:

1. what do you shove as shorty (4-5bb) utg

2. what do you assume a std reg shoves in this spot. (as shorty)

i iso pretty wide vs shorties because i myself as a shorty shove pretty wide (between 30-40%). But lately every time i iso they turn up with above std hands like ATo, 77s etc. I know they of course have these hands also, but still...

any thoughts?

You can shove some small -EV hands UTG w/ 5bb since the blinds are going to hit you the next hand and if they do go through you without you getting to go all in your basically left w/ zero FE the next orbit.

Nash has BB calling 52% & SB calling 23%, players are not calling 100% nash so these positions ranges need to be adjusted to what you actually think a player calls there.

Like do you think the majority of players are snapping Q5o/T8o type hands in the BB, I dont think they are.

After you adjust BB/SB calling ranges (picture is just an example) and put min EV Diff to -0.20 a 5bb UTG shoving range looks something like this...

When your the one isolating/calling these EP 5bb all ins you have to ask yourself if you think the player is competent at push/fold and adjust accordingly.

Hope that helps
