AQo/AQs vs regular opening 3x EP AQo/AQs vs regular opening 3x EP

11-25-2011 , 12:50 PM
When you are holding 11bb (and blind are around 250/500 or 400/800 etc, and the regular 3x or 2.5x in EP

What is your default action?
Ofcourse this depends a bit on type of regular, but in general regulars don't 3x/2.5x light UTG/UTG+1
Therefore this 'wide' question.

As for me: against a reg i'm leaning towards a fold (as long as I am holding 10bb+, as for a fish I almost always instashove.

Wrong?

I'd rather go for specific hands rather than this general guideline you're asking. Depends on villain stacksizes and our position, but I would usually shove this: 99+,AJs+,AQo+ against a 3x raiser from utg if I'm 10bb deep with antes.
11-25-2011 , 05:16 PM
[ ] regs open 3x ep at 250/500 often.

what was his stack, like 4bbs?
11-25-2011 , 06:19 PM
As said, a specific hand is more helpful. As a general rule, I'm rarely not wagering all my chips with AQ / AQs and an 11 BB stack.
11-25-2011 , 08:23 PM
If he was under 15bb (and he is a reg) this is most likely instamuck
11-26-2011 , 09:00 AM
How would your perception of his range change, if he is min-raising instead of 2.5x/3x ing preflop?

Lets say you are holding a 1800stack and BB=150
-Regular opens in EP with minraise vs 2.5x/3x (while he is holding atleast 12bb)

Lets say you hold a 6k stack and BB=600
-Regular opens in EP with minraise vs 2.5x/3x

Pretty sure I'd shove this one, unless the guy is a nit.
You should be well ahead of his opening range, plus you have fold equity on him for him to fold Pockets that you'd be flipping against.
I don't really like your flat OOP here, given stacksizes

why smooth call here and leave yourself over to a 3 bet, spots like this dont come around much in turbo 180's so get it in. If you run into AA ,KK,QQ,AK then so be it. Which is all i've been running into the last couple of days lol
Spoiler:
i've been running bad

usually just shove or fold in these spots, if villains range is too tight to 3b shove aqo on his 16bb open its also too tight for us to profitably flat with aqo oop!
