Hero (CO) (1,440) 14bb

SB (1,360) 14bb
BB (715) 7bb

Blinds: 50/100

Pre-Flop: (150, 7 players) Hero is CO
3 folds, Hero raises to 250, 2 folds, BB calls 150

I think ORaising this hand is a mistake in a loose pasive table. After review I guess it's better to openpush. On an aggro table raise/call could be interesting, but it's not the case here. Pushing make things easier. (I was multitabling, maybe I missread the blinds)

I got a caller. BB is a very weak and passive player. I'm not worried about him slowplaying QQ+ or something like that. IMO his range is wide here: broadways, AX, pockets...

Flop: (550, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

I check behind as I can't see any value on betting. AX or KX won't fold due to SPR. The only hands calling here that don't get me crushed are diamonds, but even in that case if he has a FD and a Q or a J we are flipping. Anyway, FD are a small part ot his range IMO. Plus I can't see better hands folding if I cbet, as QQ or JJ should have shoved pre. Of course worse hands are going to fold if I bet here.

Turn: (550, 2 players) *
BB checks, Hero checks *

Turn is a blank and I check behind again. I guess that anything better should be betting here, so it's very likely that I have the best hand. At this point I'm not sure if checking is better than betting to protect my hand (I don't wanna see overcards or diamonds in the river). I chose to check planning to call a villain bet on river.

River: (550, 2 players) *
BB bets 200, Hero calls 200 *

IMO villain's bet doesn't make sense. An A or a K should be betting the turn (for value and protection). 65 is the only hand that improves here, but it's very unlikey. The only hands I can see value betting here (thin value) are weak Kings. So I decided to call.

¿What do u think of my play here? ¿And what about my reasoning?

PD: Sorry for my english. (I'm also trying to improve it) and thanks in advance.

Only mistake I see here is that you didn't shove pre

Shove pre.

As played I like it.

Id also shove pre, as played i lead the turn. Villains range after checking both streets is very weak, betting the turn stops villain being able to profitably lead the river with his entire range and put us in a semi annoying spot. Also gets a lot of high equity hands to fold, FD etc. If villain flats the turn hes gonna check 90% of rivers which we can also check behind.

I just don't see a lot of better hands folding the turn and / or worse hands calling.

Nor do I. I just think that making villain fold hands with a fair amount of equity, flush draws etc is still significant IMO. Plus if we're gonna take a stab at the pot the turn is the only street to do so. Plus most importantly it stops villain being able to profitably lead his entire range on the river.

At least by leaving it for the river you get a chance to catch a bluff, rather than only getting more money in the pot when you are behind by betting the turn.

Yeah true. Although if we check the turn, whilst it should be profitable for villain to lead his entire range against our range I highly doubt he would. Which means he's gonna bet small most of his Ax Kx which beat us. And check call some of his worst Ax Kx hands and check fold the rest of his range any way. Personally id lead the turn but I'm sure both lines are fine lol.

i would mini raise pre and cbet the flop, if he calls he certainly is ahead.

Intention was to check behind.

Aha yeah I know. I just meant from villains perspective he would be checking with the intention of calling all of his Ax and Kx hands.

I'd be shoving pre for sure and this prevents spots such as this, you have 14BB's and min raise. Flop comes AKx, what are you going to do? C-bet and pray he folds, if he calls then we have to give up on the turn and hopefully get to showdown, in the long run you will just come up against too many spots like this and will end up in you losing chips rather taking the pot down pre flop and chipping up. Also I don't put another chip in the pot on this board unless I have information on the opponent that I know he gives up after checking both streets etc.
