You never shove this? Even if players left to act are good regs?
03-05-2013 , 11:52 AM
Usually I would say shoving isn't far different from raising (ie, any deeper, raise and any shallower, shove). But because UTG+2 is AI, villains behind might not want to exploit so wide as they have to show their hand. Though to be honest, I really don't know if people care that much?

mr/fold is good. If you shove and get called it will probably be bad news.
03-05-2013 , 08:42 PM
no reads on the remaining players?
i like shoving more without reads to eliminate the possibility to get flatted. also we're likely to make a mistake by r/f vs wider ranges

Anything but shoving seems horrible to me.
03-06-2013 , 04:17 AM
Please stop using those superlatives when used wrong.
03-06-2013 , 06:47 AM
I'm opening too

I am not wrong.

At least you read wrong.

lol @ raise/folding this. Jam all day.
03-07-2013 , 08:18 AM
never shoving, proper donk. im especially never shoving if this is a normal speed game.

like robinho said again, 2,000 pre, check call anything you hit for value and precaution.
fold to any 3bets or suspicious flatters.
03-07-2013 , 09:55 AM
You need to shove about 27% of your range here, and KJo is 20%. Easy shove.
03-07-2013 , 11:45 AM
^ so u shove AA?
03-07-2013 , 12:53 PM
I actually dont mind shoving AA here, but I prefer mixing it up with r/c too. But what does AA have to do with KJo?
03-07-2013 , 12:55 PM
Cuz now ur being unbalanced. If i played with u i'd snapfold any <15bb minraises vs u.
03-07-2013 , 01:18 PM
jam is very fine

Good, that means you're going to snap fold when I open 98s, T8s, A2o, etc..

people don't really care that much although some might put some weight into what you said or into the fact that he first AI is contesting antes/part of the blinds.

that's not really a good reason for shoving, though. against people flatting from the blinds you get position + a good hand with nice flopability + initiative and against most players that means insta profit for you.

anyway.

generally I feel that minraising is fine, but it kinda goes from suboptimal to just plain bad depending on who's sitting on blinds/button. some 180s regs are gonna resteal very light from there, while a few randoms tend to have similar calling and tribet shoving ranges. against the latter, mr/f makes all sorts of sense, but you won't find that sort of situation anywhere near as much as situations where shoving PF is just better because you're using the strength of your hand + maximizing FE.

in general it's nice to have a polarized r/f r/c range and a depolarized openshoving range in spots like these. once you get to understand this, you won't be thinking those spots are really that close.

cliffs: shove pre, not terrible to minraise tho
