Edit: subjectto be read: 40 left, not 4!

No specific reads on villain but general feeling was he is not a reg.

What range would you assign him?

SB Alex.ch142 (5,005) 8bb
BB 24romanSK (3,942) 7bb

Blinds: 300/600 Ante 50

Pre-Flop: (1,300, 8 players) Luchenius is BTN 9 9
TheWitchCat goes all-in 9,001, 4 folds, Luchenius calls 7,112, 2 folds

I set the range to 66-QQ, AQ+. Against that range I have 52% equity. and 1.25 pt odds to call. I was prone to gamble the flip with the intend to begin the chip leader and try to abuse small stacks near the bubble. What Any comments?

I reckon AQ+ and 88+ is his shoving range so I'd fold.

Agree with op's range maybe AJs but what is it with y'all making marginal / botommish calls when u still have a decent stack? maybe it's a leak but i'm waaaay more nitty when not first in.

Ye I make this mistake calling there sometimes. You should really be calling JJ+ and AK but ak is marginal cz is he shoving AT-AQ?

I am not sure it's a mistake. Prolly depends on reads on villain. AT and AJ are out of my assumptions, but medium pocket pairs are what I am lookign for. Also, pot odds are not that bad, cuz we are dominated only by TT-QQ.

Ye but you've no reads and your guessing his range so you should be calling tighter than 99+ in my view. I think it is a mistake? Readless

In that case reads are not that important because a reasonable range and pot odds are enough to make the call +ev. Such moves increase variance but this doesn't mean they are unprofitable.
