180man 2.50$ playing low pairs early position 15-20BB 180man 2.50$ playing low pairs early position 15-20BB

Hello!

I'm really confused when it comes to play low pairs (55-22) in early position. Like this hand here, I feel like I need to raise but at the same time, if someone shoves me here (10k+ stacks) I feel bad calling here.

How do you guys play 55-22 early position with a stack between 15-20BBs?

1. With an agressive table
2. With an tight table

CO: 12,475 (12.5 bb)
BTN: 4,159 (4.2 bb)
SB: 2,740 (2.7 bb)
BB: 11,856 (11.9 bb)
MP1: 11,240 (11.2 bb)
MP2: 24,224 (24.2 bb)
Hero (MP3): 16,928 (16.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 4 4
2 folds, Hero raises to 2,000, 4 folds

Okay good!

Here we have 18BB. If we get shoved here we need to call of our tournament life.

But question here, we raise and call a reshove?
If the guy is loose/aggressive I would always call a reshove here. But say he is tight, reshove range about 16%.

Equity Win Tie
MP2 46.26% 45.76% 0.49% 6d6h
MP3 53.74% 53.25% 0.49% 55+, A6s+, K9s+, Q9s+, JTs, A9o+, KJo+, QJo

We are going to loose more than win here. So if we get reshoved here, do we fold?

BTN: 5,676 (18.9 bb)
SB: 5,145 (17.2 bb)
BB: 14,950 (49.8 bb)
UTG+2: 29,793 (99.3 bb)
MP1: 7,488 (25 bb)
Hero (MP2): 5,383 (17.9 bb)
MP3: 21,651 (72.2 bb)
CO: 9,653 (32.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 6 6

18bbs is to deep. Its all about effective stacksizes, you see the difference between the two hands posted?

Yes wasnt thinking about that we are early in the second hand. So therefore we dont need to "gamble" with our stack and save it for later good spots?

No, Sokz means that the effective stack size in hand 2 is 18bb, which is too deep to shove.

In hand 1 your effective stack size is only 12.5bb, which is fine to shove.

Okay thanks!

Hand 1:

If CO and BB are tight, then raise.
At an aggressive table, shove.

Hand 2: Raise, or open-fold if the table is aggressive.
