Hi guys. What's a good calling range in this spot taking ICM into consideration? I've got btn running at 15/13 over ~150 hands and SB is a reg running 17/15 ~1.3k hands. I almost folded but BTN lost 60% of stack prior hand and thought it was worth a call since I've got some of his range dominated, that was what drove me to the call but sorta confused on what the right play is and why.

Also, how would our calling range differ if BTN had 12-16bb stack openshoving? Thx in advance.

The pot is laying you 2-1, so you need to have at least 33% equity in the hand in order to make a breakeven cEV call.

If we give the BTN a range of something like 31% of hands, and the SB a somewhat tighter range of 20-25% then 55 has around 33% equity here, plus around 52% equity in a large side pot, so the call will be +EV in chips.

I think with your stack a call is fine here.

It really depends on the pay jump man. If the pay jump from 5th to 3rd is big 55 is probably a fold. Having said that if the Ben is a reg capable of shoving correct ranges and so is capable of calling with correct ranges it might be a borderline call. but I would probably say 77/88+/a10ss/ago at a push. Plus I doubt both players have close to perfect shoving ranges at these stakes. Unfortunately, I am in Austria on an iPad and can't check sit n go wiz but I am fairly sure you will have a tight calling range in this spot. If I manage to remember when I am home I will check it out.

If you have sng wiz or icmizer or something like that these are goods spots to play around with.. I just plugged in the BTN jamming about 28% SB calling about 20% and with 55 your +EV.

with those ranges both are a little tighter then what drachaon gave but with those ranges i gave A5s+,A8o+,KJ+,22+ are all +EV.

Have you did this for 180 manner final table though? The calling range you have given seems far too wide... Hard for me to say without wiz and percentages at hand.

yea 180 final table.. in icmizer.. i believe it says to call that wide because of our stack size.. if we were smaller then it would be another thing

Yeh I suppose its more to do with the positions and stack size of sb because he is more likely to shove wider vs a 10/12 bb shoving range from the Beth... Having said that.. Callin with small pairs to go 3 ways doesn't seem great. Regardless.

Not folding this ever, guy needs to be pushing ridiculous tight in that spot for 55s to be a fold, even $EV wise
