Push fold bots? Push fold bots?

03-01-2013 , 12:50 PM
Im trying to grind it up from 4nl and i notice there are these 2 accounts that are on 24/7. They both short stack. They both play the same exact push or fold style. They both hit and run. So I google their cities and they both happen to be from argentia. Weird coincidence? Anyone notice any push fold short stacking argentinians at their stakes?

why would there be bots on 4nl roftl
03-01-2013 , 01:03 PM
because they can't make money higher and they're easily detectable higher?

and there are sites that sell bots for nano-stakes

Couldn't someone make a bot that was really good at poker?

Meant to post this in the lock forum. Could a mod please move?

they make very small winnings and in no limit bots are probably completely useles in todays games. just the rake on 4nl is like 8bb/100 plus.

i didn't say there are winning bots or that they are useful

although some probably make some cheeseburgers

there where some quite tough bots on ipoker last time I played there

they had a collective database they used to adjust against you. so if one played a hand vs you, the others bots knew about and adjusted their style lol

obviously nothing special but I was somewhat impressed

yeah and the bots know the percentages perfectly and they can use all the relevant stats to help them make the right decisions. I think poker bots could be amazing.

I honesty take the opposite side of most and encourage bots

they are bad, so more bad players for me to stack

Yeah they play 9/9. Not hard to beat. Steal their blinds and fold to their shoves unless you have QQ+. Its just annoying they are min stackers and theyre taking up spots that could be filled with full stackers that actually try and play poker.

mm i suppose that's true

but if you look at it from a theoretical point of view, the average player who sits at a poker table nowadays is a regular, so chances are that seat will be filled by some solid TAG lol

or at least a TAG who does better than a silly bot

A losing bot is still likely winning money after rakeback, and is thus taking money out of the poker economy.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is a good thing.

There were bots on ipoker beating 2000nl for hundreds of thousands per year.

Short stackers are bad enough, but a short stacker bot? Definitely not amazing, killing games and taking money out of the poker community!

This. Huge scandal about it. Anyone who thinks bots aren't bad for the games are either uneducated or denying the facts.

Theres no reason to play min stack push fold poker at these limits. I looked at their PTR and they both are losing. They both have played a little FLHE too. No one plays FLHE! There are too many coincidences. Could Shane look into these accounts? Not sure if I should post their SNs here.
