POLL: DOUBLE UP SNG'S POLL: DOUBLE UP SNG'S

where did they go? I am watching a video on DONs on lock poker right now on TPE. did they remove them?

Well they removed the 6max ones a long time ago due to collusion. Now they are asking for a poll for the new Revolution network as they will not be able to offer the 50/50 structure immediately when they open.

I have very little confidence in their abilities to monitor collusion in these things effectively. They are a cheater's paradise (moreso than most other games).

Sorry to you fans of the DON's. But I just can't imagine this being an intelligent move for Revolution to make right now. They don't seem to have a huge staff or anything....and we have no idea how many people they have in their collusion department or how strongly they police that.

Poll results are idiotic, splitting the player pool with 6max and/or turbos would kill the games. Best idea would be to not have 50/50s or bounty SNGs either. Just have a great structure and beatable rake in a regular 50/30/20 10man. Best case you have 1/15th the traffic of Stars, you can't offer as many games as they do.

Agreed with that too.

Teeny sites with 8-zillion different varieties of tournaments in a ludicrous lobby is not the way to do it. Thinking about the Winning network (ACR, True). It's just incredible there. Can't believe they can't figure out to reduce the number of options to increase participation.

+1 to limiting the selection for all SNGs a bit, especially in the beginning.

A couple days ago I checked out the super-turbo STT offerings on Cake. There are 3 different starting stacks available, each in 6-max or 9-max, plus a bounty version in 6m and 10m. Eight flavors of super/hyper turbo to choose from -- only one of them had any tables actually running.

thats because sngs on cake are currently dead unless you play heads up or sngs under $10. obviously some of the structures have to go though especially the bounties and there should only be one type of super turbo starting stacks and blind levels

It can very much be argued that the high amount of dead SNG's in the lobby, making it difficult to find one that might run, is the reason there are so few that actually run.

Seriously, if they just had a total of 10 SNG's to choose from I suspect they really would go off more frequently.

It's not like the variety is helpful anyway ever for the pickiest of players. So what if my preference is $20 Omaha Hypers if it never runs in the first place? It doesn't need to be in the lobby and it being listed just gets in the way and clutters things. Remove the clutter.

I think they should have 6max and 10max, I wouldn't even want to play 50/50. Cake currently has 6max, one reason I have played there in the past. Neither network has sufficient sng traffic though. So there shouldn't be too many options.

I'm a very big advocate of giving people the option to play the games they really want to play, but it has to be balanced against the pool of available players. Too many options split the pool too thin and games stagnate. I really hope this point is carefully considered as the initial SNG offerings are decided. Here's to quickly reaching a critical mass of players and games running!

That is true only to a certain extent. The biggest issue is that cake just has so little traffic compared to merge right now and almost all the traffic on cake is at cash games and heads up sngs

kind of off topic, but relevant to the new networks double ups, currently merge rake on double ups is 8%, cake is 10% on double ups below $5

cake is 7% on 5$ and up but it would be nice if the rake was standard all the way down on the new network
