I've already hinted a few times in various posts that Lock to some extent got blacklisted from processors for ensuring their players got paid lightning fast, which they were over a year ago. Other operators complained that they were pushing payouts through too quickly. These guys are all mostly using the same processors. But alas the processors are now coming out of the woodwork and Lock is working hard to get new one's on board that they can trust. This isn't rocket science. They haven't stopped paying people and those who have been unhappy with the slow payouts should just stop playing there. Most won't though. They like the software.
I'll be heading down to Costa Rica in a few weeks to get an update on the industry payment processing situation. But other operators have told me the situation is improving and that should surely benefit Lock.
Exactly! What other site gives what Lock gives?
Over time they will resolve these issues. But right now the focus is all about increasing payment processors, as Shane has discussed previously.
It seems like there is some improvement. Obviously everyone would like to see more.
- Should we be worried about Intertops, the Winning Network and Bovada's ability to continue to pay people? Because they have been paying people "lightning fast" for years (Bovada is a small exception, but they've been consistent for awhile now).
When Lock has a good month of a few good payouts, they get punished for paying out fast, but when these other networks pay fast for years straight, they are just forgiven by processors? Something doesn't really add up with that explanation.
- Revolution's software isn't far and above, it's not even consistently ranked #1 in the USA. There were some huge issues last year with bugs and crashing software. I don't see those complaints anymore (I suppose you'd say the software crashes were due to the site's grand success, and the bugs were just some minor stuff that got cleaned up), but it's not like this is the top USA software and people are flocking to it.
A lot of people don't know about the cashout issues, and a lot of people you send there will lose their deposit before they can even experience the cashout issues. But we have seen some players totally unaware, going to cashout small amounts and having to wait a long time.
Other than Merge, who is still paying ROW players in a timely manner, what US facing sites are having issues? Sites larger (Bovada), smaller (Intertops), and similar size (Winning Network) are paying both USA and non USA players with fast speeds.
And how on earth could Lock processing ROW at "lightning fast speeds" cause processors to dump them? Again, every USA facing site is paying ROW guys fast.
Your explanations just don't really add up. There's always partial truth, mixed with "as an insider," but what it looks like to everyone else is that Lock is just trying to pump fresh fish deposits into the site and hope that's enough.
FWIW, I'm in the camp of "Lederer knew about the hole, it was far too much to overcome, it was shady to accept deposits without informing players after Black Friday." Maybe you're in the "if everyone pretends it's ok, mistakes can be fixed and it'll all end up ok" camp. If that's the case, I can see why you might try to soften every damaging part about Lock and stay optimistic, but I can't see how you don't see that this situation is a major problem in every single way. Even some of the bigger affiliates that don't normally comment on this stuff have removed Lock or put little warnings about Lock on their site (PokerListings, for example).
