don't seem to be running into as many bots here as merge.

just wish nastycanasta, wizowizzoo and many of the others would play here, but thank god dontpanek is here.

im not him btw, but always loved him on table, can't get more predictable.

guess dewey11 isn't a lock player either..

These fellas are all on Merge -- WHY would you want them here??? Although they may have decent rankings, they often represent the worst of online poker playing -- shovin on the flop, shovin with junk, just plain too much bullying and actual poor play if you are old-school!! Online poker is giving this game a rather poor reputation and these guys are fine examples of that play.

Huh? This a level?

By the way I haven't seen thenastycanasta on merge either. I'm guessing he/she moved to a different skin on merge and has a new screen name.

When i play Im a rakeback whore so I personally would like to see anyone reg the Dons at high stakes if it brings volume. as long as I'm not stuck with 6-8 good regs. I can't beat that for anything meaningful. Maybe others can

Not positive. But I believe that telling a player that they need to check it down in that spot is pretty iffy. It's way too similar to saying "next time, we need to check it down" which ends up being even more inadvertent/ignorant-colluder like.

you can "soft-collude" against a short-stack meaning that you check it down without talking about it or pre-planning it with the other player, etc. But to tell a guy at the table, "you idiot. Check it down in that spot!" to me is very much tantamount to informing him how you will both play it the next time.

There are some grey areas in there that can kind of go either way as to whether it's allowable or not.

Of course, by not allowing chat at all, you avoid even approaching that grey area thankfully. Good decision by Lock here to not allow the chat!

This, besides, WHY else do you need the chat anyway?

Not just that but telling someone to check it down or berating someone teaches them how to play properly. Let them continue to be stupid. Overtime they hurt themselves more than anyone else. Don't teach the fish

i think the no chat in double or nothings is fantastic..most games are idiot regs that know what to do so whats the point of having chat?

what some of the dinosaurs dont understand here is just how u pick up so many tells from players chat.

its time to get over this idiotic concept that chat leads to collusion, and let the better players have access to everything they need to to keep playing here.

i know way back in 1932 some hand was influenced by some idiot chatting, who cares lets move on.

enlighten me w a tell you've picked up via player chat, im on the edge of my seat waiting
08-15-2012 , 01:26 PM
Suppers, thought you were done with this chat.

We had an example right here in this forum of somebody who was inadvertently going to use the chat inappropriately.

good to see a strong presence from the Eastern Bloc spring up
08-15-2012 , 06:17 PM
One example, might as well just shut down everything. Best thing to do here is just have support email players who play these games and see what players think.

suppers - This would be easier to discuss with you if you were even remotely consistent in your arguments.

Anyway, the inadvertent inappropriate chat thing from just the one guy on here about how he would like to use the chat is obviously a pretty common thing...and is not just a 2005 thing as you keep insisting.

Regardless, majority vote of the players would be a stupid way to decide this. There needs to be some reason behind the decisions.

You could ask the players if they wanted to allow people to help and tell each other when they should check it down....but if 90% of the players said, "Hell yeah, I'm sick of these idiots not playing the way I think they should. Let me tell him during the hand so he stops screwing it up for me" then that still wouldn't mean the site should do that.

You have some reasonable points about why you think chat should be allowed and that you think the restrictions are too much and somewhat unreasonable. But you're pretty hard-line and inflexible in how much you want this chat stuff in your freaking $5 DON's and it's kind of weird. And you fail to recognize that there actually are valid counter-arguments to your idea....from people who actually DO play the games.

Pretty sure the vast vast majority of players don't really give a crap either way.

I'll take the survey and say that I don't give a crap. I barely have time to glance at a HEM stat let alone chat or view chat. Focus less on chat and try to add more tables

as i have said sev times, i have played thousands of games, and this type of chat maybe has happened 5 times. At most. It is not a common thing.

I say let the players decide since they are the ones who play and its the ones who get affected by it.

are you even a winning player?

How many of these could someone play in 1 day? Say at the $7 level what is a good amount of game that I could play in 6 hours?

didnt know there was a 7 dollar level.

this really depends on time of day since volume is low. I play mainly the 10s and play about 60 a day in about 6 hour span. Since i play on a mac, its harder to mass table more than 8, so i just play 8 at once, but honestly if i want to get more tables i need to play at diff levels.

there are times of the day, were even 6 tabling the 10s takes time for games to fill up.

i deposited on lock a few days ago to play 6max dons <3 im starting small at the $3 and just looking to build my way up eventually.

is the tile function for tables horrible for everybody or just me? its like i tile 9 tables and i have to move 3 of them so i can see the whole table, half of it is usually off my screen lol.
08-20-2012 , 11:48 AM
