They don't adjust in the spring, so they wouldn't change it now.

I think they should only adjust it in the fall...and not in the spring. They get one hour further away from US Eastern time every year. Epic.

With Lock being worldwide, I don't think they can do time changes. Not all nations have time changes.

danger - some sites do time changes. others do not.

They should base it off of GMT. Not the famous one, Glen Mike Time. Just ask this guy every morning what time it is and base all your tournaments off of that.

Our preference is a client that displays you your local time.

This is something that has been on the dev list for Merge for a while and was originally due in this next release. Not sure if it will still make it out this time around but we are hoping so.

A client that displays the local time will make promotions more confusing. 3,000 points in a day from midnight to midnight on the time lock shows me...or is it the time lock says it is and it's really 5a to 5a?

See what I mean?

By displaying the official lock time you always know when the official days begins and ends for daily point promise, etc. I always forget if it's 12 to 12 where I am or if it is 1 to 1. Because it is different for half the year. But currently all I have to do is look at the lobby and the info is right there for me and I know exactly how long I have left in the official day.

Also, lol at the ludicrous spammy bump there and lock not doing anything about it. That's spam guys. Feel free to nuke it.

For promotions we can use a central time, but the client itself will exist in your time.

You will also be able to fix the time for instance if you want your clock to match the promotional time given.

MicroBobisright. We're playing on our computers, our computers have clocks, and they're set to the local time - we don't need another one. What people need in the poker client is a clock that matches promotions, tournaments, etc. I can't think of a single reason why it would be better to display the local time in the client.

lock wont fix this or the rebuy debacle, they are too busy working on more emoticons

Respectfully disagree. Stars and FTP both have/had the option to display local time, which I have always used. Bodog/Bovada also has this option.

I find the Merge clock (the one OP described, which is used on the Merge skins I play on - Lock & Sportsbook) confusing, particularly because it's the same as my local time (US - Eastern Standard) during the non-Daylight Saving Time part of the year, but during Daylight Saving Time it's an hour off.

Just my .02.

Yeah, I'm a rec player, so call me crazy, but I really enjoy the emoticons. They liven things up when the action is dragging.

I don't have a problem with it being optional, but server time needs to be available IMO. And I think server time being default would mean less confused customers.

Im not sure what their final decision was but our preferred option was the first time you ran it you go the option to change to local time so you were in control. You could then of course change it back to the central time from settings.

The other decent option was a forced changed to your local time that comes with a warning as it loads giving you the option to revert.

The customer definitely needs to be informed and definitely needs to be in control.
