Probably gettting on the bandwagon too late here but yeh ive been playing on cake for ~ 2 years and nearly left because of the version 2.0 software till i got my hands on a file that allowed me to run the old version

i liked the old version of cakes software and still play on it to this day

the simple is better approach is always the best way from a GUI point of view

please dont go OTT on it

We are looking at the best way to deal with this, we dont love the unlimited changes either.

There was Cake the room, and Cake the network. We have taken over Cake the network which will be rebranded Revolution. Cake the room will remain separate.

When we move over you will be asked to change your Lock screename.

Im sorry that has me completly confused?? can anyone explain, i play on a cake network skin, i assume as of June 1st i will a software update and be on the Revolutionary gaming network right?

if so are you saying cake the room (?) will still operate?

I'd be more surprised if you found the answer rather than if you missed it, lots of rapid fire questions here.

Shane can you explain what you mean by the Cake room will stay separate? i read that as a cake skin will remain open but i know that cant be the case ?

We acquired the Cake network and are rebranding that Revolution. The poker room Cake was not part of that acquisition.

So am I. It's a small edge. When I change my name, people play against me differently. If they're not keen to noting, then it's their problem.

If it changes, it won't kill me if there are all-around improvements else where.

I'm looking forward to the revamp.

I appreciate all the straight to the point answers you've provided Shane.

It's pretty tilting to send an email and not get a response for two weeks. Same thing with it taking 3+ weeks to get verified. So help the players out and hire support. If you guys mess this up it's completely your fault, there is no blaming it on merge anymore. Hopefully you guys can run a good business instead of just being a little less ****ty than everyone else. Can't wait for the change, I'll be staying with lock.

Cheers

Support is being completely overhauled, we are working on both improving the workflow as well as increasing the size of the team. Expect huge improvements in this department.

I cant find the post to reply to but someone asked if VIP and rakeback players will be eligible for Ronin and the answer is yes.

This will be the make or break for you guys IMO. If it still takes a month to answer an email or get an issue handled then Revolution will likely fail. If you guys can have second to none customer service that rivals Pokerstars, Merge will likely be totally crippled and you guys will be a huge success.

Shane,

I’m wondering where Lock's career opportunities page is located? Or is Lock just going to hire Eric’s friends like Tmay420? Is Lock serious about hiring the most qualified candidates so that it can legitimately compete/model a world class poker company like Pokerstars?

herp derp, if you're worried about separate player pools, then yes, you should have worked harder in school.

As much as I wish this could be true, I have serious doubts. There has to be a strong commitment from the owners to reinvest capital into software, customer service, and advertising. The poker site has to stand out to compete with Pokerstars. The software can’t just be another cookie cutter and look like every other nickel and dime poker site out there. Model your customer service department after PS. Model your software after PS and FTP. If they aren’t willing to put this kind of effort into the business, then I’m sorry to say it will be just another site that traffics 5K players at peak times.

I am so excited about this change. This is very good for the players and I'm optimistic about the outcome.

1) LockOps was a Lock only tourny series that had sick guarantees coming for it. That shows how large their active player base is.
2)Merge sucks and does not do the right thing for players.
3) Competition is good
4) Locks cashier is 110% better then the other merge skins
5) Lock only merge skin to openly state they have segregated funds
6) Ronin incoming
7) OBVIOUS Lock is more committed to re-investing into the site then other skins

I'm not married to merge by any means and I definitely think customer service has fallen off on many skins. I'm taking a wait and see approach. If you offer good rb(I don't know if I've seen offers on this thread) and if player traffic is good I would consider an account with lock. Although I thought cake was keeping the name but still part of the network. I have to think cake made up the majority of cake network.

Will everyone be able to change their screenname or only those with the same screennames on both sites?

If anyone has the same sn on both sites I would just change my sn on cake slightly as you are allowed and leave your lock as is

F#ck merge one of the worst networks I ever played on. Gl Lock Poker

I just started this thread asking for tips from current Cake multitablers (to help us Lock Multitablers out).

please chime in.

Can someone elaborate at what this Ronin VIP system is? I am likely going to get to the Elite VIP level on Lock this month. Would it be pointless form me to do this?
05-15-2012 , 02:32 PM
Ronin is a rakerace (not a VIP system). It is likely being added onto whatever rakeback and/or VIP scheme they put together.

Nobody really knows whether getting Black Elite this month is worthwhile or will be completely pointless. Lock says they will announce more details of their VIP/rakeback by the end of the week. So hopefully the aspect of "carry-over" VIP stuff will be addressed there.

No idea what they are going to do with those who achieve Black Elite this month. Would be pretty cheesy to give them nothing for that effort and all that rake. It is my suspicion they wouldn't leave them out in the cold but you just never know. They very well could start completely from scratch for all we know and erase anything/everything from the Merge days.

I've been playing on Cake and Lock for a while now. I've never cashed out on lock, but cake took 3 and a half months to get my first cashout. My second one has been pending for over 2 months now. I seriously hope that this buyout of cake will provide quicker cashouts for cake players than what they have had. I really don't understand how Cake support can be ridiculously fast at responding to emails (I've had responses within 10 minutes of sending an email) yet not be able to cashout players for three and a half months. If cashouts are sped up, I will play way more often. It's annoying knowing that the most you can cashout in a year is like 10k on average for cake.

lock poker will still keep their fast cashier next month but this won't apply to the other skins so i wouldn't get your hopes up unless you plan to move to lock

If you are hoping to get at least 36% on your existing Cake account, you have to ask Cake. Lock is carrying forward with their own cashier and their own rakeback programs, etc. so if you want the 36% you need to switch to Lock after June 1st.

though I have no confirmation of the exact rakeback programs being offered by Lock.
