I have a question... who the heck is Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg?

Cause that name pops up on the who-is for lockpoker.com, jdbservicesnv.com and on the licensing page for Lock http://validate.cyberluck.com/valida...b-619f0a00002a

With a residence in Cyprus (where Lock doesn't have any accounts...) and Curacao.

I'm sorry but that licence looks like it belongs in a DIY Kit.

$49.95 Compliance Status Valid: Yes

and the twitter page;

I feel so safe!

seems like his name is associated with lots of offshore gambling/poker sites.

Well it actually shows under "adress" but how could it be that for Cyprus who-is states:

Quote:
organisation: JDB Services
person: JDB Services N.V.
address: "Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg z/n\r\nUTS Building"
zipcode: 1060
city: Willemstad
country: Cyprus
phone: +33.0686998163
who owns lockpoker.com and the JDB payment processor website.

And for Curacao the license states:

Quote:
Company Name: Cipaco N.V.
Address: Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg Z/N
UTS-Gebouw
Curaçao
Registered Website(s): http://www.lockpoker.com
I don't think the same "address" Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg Z/N exists in both places?
05-09-2013 , 02:27 PM
I suppose it's not an actual person but the name of a shell company?
05-09-2013 , 02:30 PM
Don't think so. Looks like a dutch/german name to me. Curacao e-gaming is operated by E-Offshore Ventures/IP Holdings about which I can't find any info at all

A simple google search reveals that the Address field means that's the address. Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg is the name of a road in Curaco:

-> country: Cyprus is a mistake, it must be country: Curacao

-> there is no city Willemstad in Cyprus and I´m sure that there is no street "Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg" in Cyprus

-> "Weg" is dutch/german and means= small street

OOPS: someone found it while I wrote it...

It's a nominee shareholder, they put their name on everything and act on behalf of the actual owners.

Many gaming companies use Nominee Shareholders to help keep the real owners a secret.

If you search that name, you'll see that many gaming companies that are based in Curacao all use the same guy.

Clearly that's the answer

I know Lock is shady, but sometimes you have to apply Occam's Razor so you aren't inventing bull**** out of nothing.

freed-bird. Of course I did the google search and found the street name in Curacao, just doesn't exist in Cyprus. So that would mean that the JDB and Lock domain records and Cyprus company address are wrong.

On a side note. Came across this site. Interesting "stuff".

This reminds me of a big scam going around Bangkok years ago. (not saying Lock is a scam)

Back then people would register office places and whole office services and setup fake brokerage offices. More offices were rented in the Philippines and fitted with a ton of phone lines which then got patched to the offices in Bangkok.

The firms would work down phone lists representing themselves as brokers with lots of "trading action" in the background and talking people into buying worthless stocks over the phone.

By the time their victims found out they got scammed their money was gone, offices closed, new ones rented and the fun begun again.

Took Interpol and local agencies years to nail them down.

Do you wonna hear the joke of the year?

http://jdbservicesnv.com

"The brilliance of this system is its simplicity and privacy, combined with INCREASED convenience and SPEED. The core of our solution is our dynamic payment processing system."

"Aside from offering standard credit/debit card processing, the value proposition behind the open-access, closed-loop network is that we are now able to offer the ability to ACTIVATE AND PROCESS EACH TRANSACTION AT MUCH MORE COMPETITIVE RATES THAN EXCISTING SOLUTIONS."

"DB Services NV is an online payment processing company that has been in business for over 5 years offering safe, secure, and QUICK ONLINE PAYMENTS."

Thank you!

Then it lookslike Cipaco N.V.(Lock Poker) is the owner of JDB Services N.V.

lock simply spent too much (players)money to pursue their main goal: becoming as big as possible in as little time as possible. we all know that online poker has not anywhere near the margins that casinos or sportsbooks have.
so online poker rooms have to be very stingy if they want to run a successfull long term business.
thats where lock failed.
offering almost ridiculous deals to their clients and affiliates and all the crazy advertising resulted in a massive gain of player and deposits.

but only gaining affiliates/clients and deposits does not make a profitable business.
it's still the long term business plan that decides whether a company is only generating a bubble or if it's really operating on solid ground.
taking into account all the current offers from lock, all the advertising, all their paid pros and especially the fact this company's player balances are dealt at 0.35/1 due to their inacceptable payout time/policy only allows one conclusion:

a lot of people who have been attracted by absurd deals and omniprestent advertising will soon ( or already have ) lose a lot of money.

how can you recruit new usa players when you state you cant pay the ones you have now in a respectable amount of time. other sites have stopped new usa players until they find ways to pay them, or invite certain amounts of new sign ups.
