Question Discussion and proposal of questions to direct to Shane

Edit/MH: See new Q&A thread here: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/19...ad-op-1354573/
Please read the OP to avoid infractions and possible ban.

*

Basically this forum has become very, very inefficient when it comes to asking shane questions. There's a buncha threads with approximately the same content/subject, questions sprawled everywhere and drowned out everywhere by constant derails, trolls, etc.

It is my belief that we need a moderated thread where all that happens is Shane gets asked questions and he gets to reply without having to wade through a ton of crap. I don't care if you think he'll be honest, I don't care if you think it's pointless, if you have nothing to add, just stay out. We've tried the aggressive approach, we've tried insulting him, we've tried being mean ****s to him. Has that made a difference? Not really, no. So while you guys can keep doing that in all the other threads if it makes you feel better, we will have ONE thread where things will be civilized and organized.

To that end, Mike Haven has kindly agreed to moderate a Q&A thread in the following manner:

Quote:

I could start a thread in which only you and Shane are allowed to post, upon pain of infractions or bans if others post in it, if you wish?

You would simply Report anyone else's posts in the thread and mod action would be taken.

PM me what content you would like to have included in the OP and I'll copy/paste it in.

So, here's how we're gonna do this. You guys have 24 hours to come up with questions for shane. We're gonna start with 3 questions and I'm going to be the one to pick them. If we get more than 3 great questions in these first 24 hours, the next ones will carry over to the next day. Ideally we can get 3-5 questions in per day.

Please make your questions relevant, well thought out and non-confrontational. If I deem a question too good to pass up even though it's written in a very aggressive style, I'll take it upon myself to re-word it.
I'd appreciate if, in asking your questions, you also take some time to do a bit of research, perhaps provide some quotes relevant to the issue at hand. If you can't be bothered, that's fine, I'll do it, but like I said, any effort on your part will be much appreciated.

For this first question round I reserve one of the 3 slots for my question which will be in regards to the queuing system of cashouts. I'll write it up when I'm done playing and obviously you guys can feel free to offer constructive criticism or whatnot, it's actually very welcome.

Once we get the first series of questions underway, we'll use this thread to discuss shane's answers and plan for the next round of questions with his replies in mind.

I know most people on this subforum hate lock/shane but please try to put your emotions aside and let's see if we can get some proper answers in an improved Q&A environment. To those of you that are skeptical and are thinking of posting some dumb **** letting us know that shane's a liar, he's not going to be forthcoming, or any of that kind of ****, just...don't. Let other people ask the questions, let other people do the research and the organisation and just sit back and laugh at their useless attempts. If you're right then you'll get a laugh out of it, if you're wrong, then wooopty-doo, it was worth it and you didn't even have to lift a finger.

Re: Discussion and proposal of questions to direct to Shane

If Lock has all player funds as they claim, then why do they only send out roughly 1 "batch" of cash outs per week via major ewallets like Skrill and Neteller to their ROW players? If it is because they are waiting on US deposits to clear (lol), would that not mean that they are loaning out ROW player money to Americans for deposits that they do not yet have?

I'm thinking of playing on lock again. Shane would it be worth my time? If I can get my money in one month, that would be acceptable to me, but will I have to wait 4+ months for my money

Where in the legally binding agreement between the customer and the operator http://lockpoker.eu/support/terms/ is stated that player funds are segregated?

Why would anyone believe that Lock segregates player funds, when all the evidence seems to indicate otherwise?

I'm amending this question: Why should anyone believe that Lock segregates player funds, and that all the funds are intact, when all the evidence seems to indicate otherwise?

Obviously, the poker community's overriding concern is that the funds were not segregated, and that they've been taken and spent. Unfortunately, Lock's behavior has mirrored that of other rogue sites that have taken their players' funds.

This is really the key question.

Re: Discussion and proposal of questions to direct to Shane

Question (Part A): Why won't Lock's CS, email team, live support, and/or anyone associated with helping players give an honest figure when asked regarding accurate cashout times from request to cash/check in hand? To date, the current cashout times when you approach a live agent is 4-5 weeks for WU, and 6-8 weeks for checks or ROW payments (Neteller, Skrill, etc.). This is an integral question, because this ends up bringing in new players (as they may be frustrated from other Rev skins, or Merge skins, for example) and then they are subject to some of the wait times we've seen in this forum.

Question (Part B): Since the answer to the above has been told to me to be rooted in the undesirable nature of using older cashout data as a barometer of current timeframes, why won't Lock get more publicly behind my efforts in tracking cashouts posted on this forum, and/or helping to make the data as complete as possible, instead of publicly denying its effectiveness (or defending others who misuse the data) as a general sample of player experiences? As Shane has stated to me, Lock is in need of someone who reports the facts as they are instead of slanting generalities to further their own agendas. I can think of few better ways to near this aim than to endorse these efforts and to at least acknowledge that it is somewhat indicative of current timeframes as a whole - moreso than most others who don't do the research.

I have included the data I have collected from May 1st until July 19th, 2013 with this question - this is all reported cashouts that have been received in various threads in this Lock forum, double-checked and verified by screenname so as to not have duplicate information.

Thanks.

Shane,

It takes 3-4 month for a cash out to move from request to verified. Please explain why it takes this long and this process involved? How does this differ from your competitors.

You have claimed that the backlog is due to payment processors. However once a payment processor has funds, customer information, and delivery information they can process a check within a day and make delivery within a week. Why are you sending out one batch a week and how many cash outs are within a batch. Could you explain the delay in moving from the request to process phase? I realize some info maybe confidential, so I am looking for number of cash outs not dollar amounts.

Why has Jen Larson not commented or given a follow up interview about the issues involving Lock and the commitments that were not realized in June? When can we expect an update from her?

Is there any method you could utilize to prove that player funds are segregated?

Could you provide more detail to the current corporate structure of Lock, Cake, Revolution, and ownership?

Will you continue to accept player deposits from US customers

When you and management discuss the communication between Lock and their current and potential customers, are you satisfied with that level of communication? What are you doing to improve it?

*

As a general comment. I can appreciate the effort of what you are doing, but I think you are placing the blame in the wrong area when it comes to the current situation. But that's a topic for another day. Anyway can we discuss "infractions" and "bans" in terms of Lock and Shane.

If he simply answers a question with an outright lie, what are the consequences?
Will you allow follow up questions?
Will you allow a rebuttal responses?

Is there a single person who is well known and respected within the poker community, that is not affiliated with Lock in any way, that supports Lock at this point?

First of all I'm not placing blame on anything. I don't think you can argue with the points I made in the OP re this forum being a cluster****. I'm just trying to get things a bit more organized.

As to your infractions for lying question, you can't be serious can you? What would you expect? That if he lies he be banned from the forums for a week?

Generally i'm against rebuttals as this is not exactly a debate but rather a Q&A; if the need for rebuttals arises, we'll figure out a way to phrase them in the form of a question so the back and forth nature of this Q&A be kept up.
Follow up questions will of course be part of this. After we get replies to the first round of questions we'll figure out just exactly how to proceed to get a good mix of follow up questions as well as including other stand-alone questions.

Thanks to everyone for participating. Keep the questions coming.

Enclosed is a list of items from Mason after a discussion with Lock Management. Why did Lock not fulfill items 3 and 4?

2. The Lock Forum will stay open but will be operated in a support capacity with no emphasis on promotions.

3. A new Lock representative will come on here and give a more detailed explanation of how they currently see the issues and the steps they will be taking to get everything resolved.

4. This representative will take an active role in answering any questions that our posters may have.

Best wishes,

Please ask Shane does he feel cashout's have improved since promises were made that things would definitely change by June? Would like for him to explain why he thinks yes or no?

Re: Discussion and proposal of questions to direct to Shane

Good work OP, been looking at this development over a few days. Anyway my question/s for Shane:

Shane, are you prepared to commit to this forum and answer every question OP sends your way? Even if its a "I am not allowed to release this information unfortunately".

And

How often do you plan on being on 2+2? Honestly, will you be able to answer 3 focus questions per day to the best of your ability? Will other threads on this forum become obsolete from your duties as forum rep due to this new thread?

Feel free to modify/adjust any question OP, good luck!

I am very serious, and your dismissive response is very troubling to me. I would expect that if he lies:

1- It be acknowledged
2- He is called out on it
3- An apology and a truthful response be made
4- That if it continues he be removed and a new Lock rep be installed

So what is your point? On one hand you are criticizing posters who have called him out in the past as berating poor Shane. And now after this new process is in place, no big deal if he lies or gives the usual spin even if he is caught? If this is supposed to be a fresh start then Lock has to build trust and change the way they do business. I don't think you are seeing that point. Lock has lost the trust and faith of their customers. It is on Lock to change, not anyone else. The same old BS is not going to fly. And they can start by being honest.

Can you compare your cash out process to your competitors and why is there such a disparity between Lock and others such as Bodog?

Can you compare Lock traffic from last year and to what do you attribute the decline to?

Why doesn't Lock have telephone Customer Support?

Can you comment on how many full time employees presently work for Lock?

Re: Discussion and proposal of questions to direct to Shane

There is no new lock rep coming, so you can give that one up. If he can't answer it honestly, he shouldn't answer it at, and just saying he can't answer on his companies behalf. I think some of the questions your asking he is not going to be able to answer, and you seem to go out of your way for flame wars, anybody can be a keyboard warrior.

I would like to ask him why is the customer service department so robotic, and I actually gave up about the hm2, I emailed customer support numerous times and they told me that the promotions team would get right back with me, of course they never did. Then they made an error in the nexus race and couldn't even have the decency to send me an email to tell me what happened. That is another bad thing, when they have no clear answer, they don't answer at all.

No, waste of oxygen. I called you that because you posted that this subforum should be locked. Reading comprehension should be high up on the list of qualifications for a news-site editor, is that not correct, Mr. Chris "waste of oxygen" Costigan?

you'll be highly excited to learn I received a very nice PM from shane thanking me for the work i'm doing and for legitimately trying to improve communication between 2p2 and lock through this endeavour; he also committed to having an active participation in the new Q&A thread.

GTFO now please? Kthxbye

Oh, one more thing: I just wanted you to know that it is my personal opinion that lock couldn't have done a worse job in partnering up with 911gambling in order to get some positive PR. You, and your staff are so highly incompetent that every attempt you make at spinning lock in a positive light is met not only with disbelief, but downright ridicule, mockery and anger at the **** you spout. Now you might be ignorant enough to dismiss these reactions as stuff you couldn't give a **** about, haters, keyboard warriors or what have you, but the bottom line is this: your job is to make lock look better and by god you're doing a horrendous job.

What is the nature of Lock's relationship with Cake Poker? Specifically, after Lock left Merge and joined the newly re-branded Revolution Network regarding:
  • Network ownership (%'s) and Lock's responsibilities (was a deal created where Lock is responsible for new player acquisition? etc.)
  • Shared resources? (payment processors, customer service, etc.)

Thanks for your time.

Honestly Jah, don't waste your breath, he isn't worth it. Everyone knows what a POS Chris and that rag of his are.

And while we disagree about how useful this will be, thanks for putting this together all the same. Maybe also include a reaction/follow-up thread that people can post in to respond to the answers is the Q&A thread? Just a thought.

Simple question for Shane. It has been shown that Lock can speed up cashouts that they choose so why not put resources into speeding up ALL cashouts? This would at least give people some confidence in the site.

Larson: No. There has been a lot of confusion and misinformation about the ownership of Revolution Network. In the spring of 2012 Lock entered into negotiations to purchase selected assets from the Network. One of the conditions of the purchase was the rebranding of the Network and this step took place. Ultimately the proposed purchase was not completed and Lock never became the owner of the network. A Company completely independent of Lock made the purchase. The Network team does work very closely with Lock based on Lock being the largest room. We therefore have an impact on the overall direction and weigh in on the big decisions.
Referencing the above answer by Jen Larson about the Revolution Network.

Can you leave Cake/Revolution and pass some blame on them?
