Declined by issuer Declined by issuer

I tried depositing some money through my card, but it was declined by the issuer apparently.

Is it because my bank won't deposit to certain accounts? Do I have to go through WU? I wanted to avoid the fee when withdrawing and I didn't want to deposit a minimum of $50. If I deposited through card, it was a $25 minimum.

go to transfer thread..trade with somebody with a rep

tommy - That can work for some people. But if you want the deposit/reload bonus then a transfer won't work.

sybax - Some cards simply won't work especially in the U.S. It has been this way for awhile. And it's hard to tell which ones will be okay where. One card will be okay on one site but will be declined on another site....I presume because the bank has a block there.

There are other situations though such as informing the bank that you approve this transaction. I get a warning thing on one of my cards when I am declined. I call the 800-number, speak to a rep and verify who I am, say that I do indeed authorize the transaction, and then when I try again the transaction will go through.

Your mileage may vary. It's different with pretty much every card I think.

So what do you propose I do? Use WU?

I tried doing it, and it said something about sending money to some guy in Nicaragua. I decided not to do it because it sounded fishy and I don't exactly know how WU works and what I was exactly suppose to do.

If you want the deposit bonus then you either try a different card or you do the WU thing which is totally fine. Except that I think the fee for WU is pretty steep especially for something as small as $25 or $50 or whatever.

If you are cool with the transfer thing with somebody else and don't care about the deposit bonus then maybe go through that...except you have a whopping 3 posts and don't have any history so that probably doesn't work either.

I also have no idea what you are talking about regarding "avoiding fee when withdrawing." If you withdraw via check you don't have a fee anyway, right? It doesn't matter which way you deposited (to my knowledge...maybe I'm missing something).

I would also recommend sucking it up and attempting to deposit via card for $50 instead of $25. Might make a difference.

What I do in situations where my deposit doesn't work: I try something else and attempt to figure it out.
