Im having trouble finding any details on this. What does the other 2.5k include? Can i get it cash?

Is this in reference to the Lock Lotto prize for the end of the month?

At any rate, I'm sure the extra 2.5K is for travel and hotel expenses, and I'm pretty sure somebody who won one of these in a previous year said that they got it in cash. I'll emphasize that I'm not certain on that fact though.

We encourage players to take their place in the tournament, that is after all what they enter WSOP satellites for. We also get far better exposure from a person winning a seat and making a trip to WSOP rather than just getting cash.

The travel money goes into your account as soon as you win so you can start booking your trip, the buyin we will deal with on an individual basis with the specific winners.

That is the most unclear response you could have possibly given.

So how does the winner plan his trip when it will take 4 check cash outs before he can pay for his entry book his hotel and flight?

Shane - You've mentioned "encourage" or "preference" a couple of times. Does that mean the player HAS to enter the tournament? As others have observed, the answer seems kind of vague and/or not-definite. But perhaps you intended it to b inferred as definite. Really can't tell here.

Thank you for attempting to answer this but I think a number of us are still confused as to exactly how it works and would prefer elaboration.

The issue here is the OP wasn't asking if he should take the prize vs cash, he was asking specifically in the 12.5k WSOP package, which can be won both in the extreme lotto and the satellites, after the 10k is paid for the WSOP entry, can he have the other 2.5k in cash (possibly lives close by or can stay with a buddy and does not need flight/accomodations)

What OP does not understand, is that if you take the 12.5k WSOP prize, they can't sign you up for the tournament and pay your entry, so short of Lock representatives meeting you there and buying you in, everything will be given to you in cash.

I think shane is simply saying in the interest of the promotion benefiting both parties (lock poker and the winner) they would prefer you played the tournament, but there isnt anything they can do about it and will be giving you 12.5k cash.

Vanity, except we aren't really sure if its accurate or not. Would be nice for lock to confirm or refute.

How will you be paid the cash? Do you have to cash it out of your account using the existing methods and timeframes. If so, as previously observed ...you will never get it all in time.

I very highly doubt it.
