From what I think I know about it, you can publish a game with it similar to how couchdb can serve a couch app but you can also leverage components of it and use your own code (socket.io and node.js) to handle most of the logic similar to how couchdb can be used as just a datastore too while your web server handles the logic.

They are comparable in the sense they both make HTML5 games. I've never used CouchDB so don't know about that, the flow in Construct 2 is you make your game with events and you can use the Javascript SDK to write your own plugins that can do just about anything. Plugins are small reusable Javascript files and people make and share them all the time:
