I was just trying to narrow down how well they work alone and with a team, because my situation requires a little of both. I don't have time or manpower to micromanage someone and need people to take a lot of initiative, and yet I need them to do well collaborating with others, particularly with difficult coworkers.

So I asked to describe a time she worked on a team and what she liked about it vs. working alone. Kind of a weak question I think because her answer was very bland. Then I asked what quality she really, really disliked in a teammate, and what she really liked in a teammate. That got me the information I wanted to know and she had a pretty good answer. I asked a few other questions like that.

material ui (which has been in react beta for forever) is just npm i -S material-ui@next and then use the normal docs I believe.

How is it different than the official version?

Oh, I see, @next is just like the beta version, it's not a different package.

JFC now I am in Stack Overflow jail. I can't do anything because I don't have enough reputation points, and now I can't even answer questions to try to get reputation points.

So ok let's see my existing answers. There are only two.

This one from 2014: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...28487#21028487

And this one where someone assumed I was posting code in an image, when I was posting the image for a reason: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...31314#52231314

**** these *******s, seriously.

Has anyone ever seen this?

There is a 25 commit PR on github by one author. I add one tiny commit to fix a minor bug, then squash and merge via github.

It fails our automated tests, I go to look why, and my commit is gone like it never happened.

What is the process when a company says they will reimburse the cost of travel/expenses to for an in-person interview?

I think I probably just messed up somewhere. That was extremely weird.

I really need to automate our release process. I am way too prone to errors when I'm merging several branches together and drafting a release.

When I went through this recently the flight and hotel were paid direct by the companies and they overnighted me a prepaid card for incidentals.

My company booked everything for me.

I've heard horror stories about companies deciding not to reimburse or ghosting or just taking months to do it. I'd insist on them booking everything. There are even services that will do this for them with whatever constraints they want.

I have had both of the following:
1) I give details and they book flights and hotels
2) I do it all myself and they write me a check after

No chance I'm paying anything myself.

It had not occurred to me that they wouldn't pay me, but I guess that's a possibility. The one company that paid me after both paid for me to move from TX to CA and then towards the end of my tenure there, paid for me to move back to TX. Good people.

Signs it's time to pack it in and go home:

You're beating yourself up trying to figure out why Facebook login isn't working. Finally you finally realize it's your custom lambda you wrote hours ago - which tries to intercept two users with the same email address - doing its job.

Only thing I’m willing to pay for and get reimbursed later are uber rides, and even then, most can give you a link for their corporate account.

Stack Overflow is so arrogant. I've had two answers in 4 years, one was misinterpreted, and now I'm in answer jail. No explanation, no appeal process, and if you make a post about it they will just direct you to helpful articles on how to write good answers, or how to work your way out of answer jail.

https://meta.stackoverflow.com/quest...t639928_375559

Every comment just assumes that users want to grovel at their feet and go through some kind of pledge season or arduous trial of Hercules - before you're allowed to perform the simplest functions.

It can never be the case that Stack Overflow was wrong. That's just gibberish.

They're like one of the all-seeing all-known God things in a cave on 3 or 4 Star Trek episodes. THEY WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED!

That sucks. Do they auto-ban you if you make a new account? Doesn't seem too much to give up if you have to burn a four post account...

Perhaps if you "fix" the answer by changing the image to one not including code that might help (or put a big red arrow pointing to the select box lol)

The above link is now broken, googling shows a preview I can tell was written by you but it isn't cached and it now redirects to the "how to fix your posts" FAQ

Lol the link works for me but you can't see it because they deleted my post. ****ing *******s man. I will be glad to watch them decline into irrelevance.

I did fix the answer. I may or may not still be in answer jail.

I made another post about the "new user experience" - catch it before they delete it too. https://meta.stackoverflow.com/quest...t640013_375589

If you read the meta forum there's a lot of posts like this where they navel-gaze about why they're using so many long time contributors and failing to get new ones. Of course they come the the conclusion that no, it is the users who are to blame.
