Building custom computer cheaper than purchasing?

I've built a few simply for mining crypto so thought for my next much needed grind station should I just build a computer Or just purchase something? I want to be able to do a lot of tasks at once, multitable, hm2, possibly multiple poker platforms, dual monitor. No hiccups. Would it be a good idea to just get a real powerful laptop and hook up a dual monitor to it? Hmm
