Having a master in business administration, what language is best? Having a master in business administration, what language is best?

Hi there!

So here is my background. In 2 years, I will hopefully graduate in business administration. Right now, I'm working for a few weeks for a medium sized company (50 employees) and helping them to have their cost control system going.

Then it hit me, someone with the accounting background and some programming knowledge would make a killing in a lot of small companies that still run on basic excel spreadsheets.

So I'm looking for a language that's very flexible to learn on the side for the next 2 years. Something easy to work with databases as well as processing it and as a bonus a language that can output it in noob friendly formats (excel or maybe even a standalone .exe file).

I know a bit of Python but that's pretty much it.

I'm a data scientist so I'm not really a programmer, but I'd say keep going with Python. Flexible, general language that can certainly work with databases. You might want to post this in the chatter thread and see if you get more responses that way

Python is a good choice (fairly straightforward syntax, lots of libraries, good community support). You might want to look into the book "Automate the boring stuff with Python". I don't remember how much of it applies to Windows but most should.
It's a good mixture of getting you started with the language and interesting use cases.
