edx linux course was amazing. I learned a lot of interesting things about this OS. I advise everyone to take this course

anyone else planning to take the AI class from Berkeley? I've done the first week from the archives and it's amazing.

I'm taking Stanford's Mining massive datasets - I've only played around on Hadoop for a couple days. First week is solid.

Also taking Brown's Linear Algebra course. Seems like it will be very challenging but more accessible and applicable because of the heavy reliance on python 3. First week is all on list/set/dict comprehensions. Very nice autograded hw.

I'm also halfway through Cal Tech's learning from data and its quite good and not as theoretical as I was expecting. I bought the book too.

Glad they improved the LA class a bit. I took v1 and dropped it because it was just awful.

I'll be TA'ing this class again. Hopefully we beat most of the bugs out of the autograder last time.

Cool. I had some autograder issues with the first problem set (tasks 7 and 8 where they ask for n member sets). I then looked at the reviews from the last time the course was offered and just about every person complained about the autograder. I don't plan on taking time adjusting code to the autograder as that won't generally affect my understanding of the material.

It seems proofs will be a significant part of the course. How are these going to be graded?

Assuming it goes like last time, they won't. If you post some in the forums I could tell you how rigorous they are.

Thanks.

Has anyone taken CS005x at edx? Early in the thread, I noticed a lot of people were doubling up on CS50x and CS6.00.1x, but I'd like to substitute CS005x for the latter because it's self-paced.

Bumping an old thread, but I have started and I am 20% in progress for two udacity courses.

Intro to Algorithms
It might be a little slow in the beginning if you have already taken an algorithm's course, however this one focuses purely on graphs.

Also I am taking an Operating systems course which seems pretty decent so far.

Using these two udacity courses to supplement my graph algorithm and operating system courses this quarter at my uni.
