Is a coding bootcamp (most likely remote) right for me? Is a coding bootcamp (most likely remote) right for me?

My bias would be toward back-end, but that's just because I feel more comfortable with it. I haven't done a ton of front-end work. Truthfully, I'm willing to explore either path.

I'd like to learn python, but have thought about RoR as a way to explore web development.

Both are great options IMO and both are written in a somewhat similar fashion. I'm a RoR developer and I love it!

If you want a quick/painless way to learn RoR and without putting in a single dime I would suggest http://www.theodinproject.com/

Thanks! That and freecodecamp seem to be recurring recommendations for self education.

One thing I should have mentioned that I had a more negative opinion of the quality than most. I don't think it was necessarily "bad" more ok/decent but was sold as being out of the world good.

In terms of salaries I know that there was someone in the bay area who got 180k, another one got 140k. Both had prior experience. A few had in the 110s 120s without prior experience. All of those people were expected to produce high quality work. Bay area salaries are higher than average.
