I've heard many people talk about so-and-so General being a brillaint strategist. There may or may not be interest in doing this, but I was hoping we could get some breakdowns/specifics from posters who know what they're talking about. For example, Washington doing x, y, z during battle p was smart because a, b, c. And then maybe go over some alternatives and breakdown why you feel they would have been better/worse. The reason im not sure if this will take off is it seems like it would take a lot of time to give a proper review of such things, but maybe someone likes doing so. If I should just google this stuff feel free to tell me so. Sorry for no paragraphs, im on my phone atm.

Hand histories. LOL

Mason Malmuth is probably the number one expert on Civil War strategies on two plus two. I know this because of his Gambling Theory and Other Topics book. I hope he shows up here to tell us about what he thinks of General Lee's mistakes in Gettysburg, a battle I know very little about other than the fact that Lee, who was overall brilliant, wasn't being brilliant during that particular time.
