Incidental Details

I read a book on the English Civil War.

Two incidental details really stood out:

1. The Parliamentarians (the good guys!) took Apprentice Boys out of London to fight a battle against the Royalists. These boys were shocked to see what cows looked like!

2. The Parliamentarians (the good guys?) massacred a bunch of Royalist camp followers after one battle - men, women, children. Their justification was that their victims were Irish!

I look forward to the incidental details you have taken away from particular texts.

Raped the Parliamentarian camp followers, put the apprentice boys to work, and milked the cows(?).

Re: Incidental Details

I read a book on the US Civil War.

Incidental detail:

During one year, Richmond's theaters were packed with crowds watching Les Misérables.

This caught on so much that General Robert E. Lee's army became known as Lee's Miserables.
