i would really like to have seen kubrick's take on napoleon.
he was developing a film on him but sadly never got made.

I'd like to see either Andrew Dominik or the coen bros do a biography of Billy the Kid or pretty boy floyd.

also a good realistic portrayal of hannibal and the punic wars would be cool.

Re: Which historically-renowned person's life would you most like to see as a movie?

Richard E. Byrd - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_E._Byrd

Served in both World Wars.

Made multiple expeditions to the Antarctic.

Claimed to have made the first flight to the North Pole, but this claim is
shrouded in controversy.

Amassed twenty-two citations and special commendations, nine of which
were for bravery and two of which were for extraordinary heroism in saving
the lives of others.

Since his death he has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories
involving the 'Hollow Earth' and 'Flat Earth' beliefs.

Quote:
Admiral Byrd was one of the most highly decorated officers in the history of the Navy. He is possibly the only individual to receive the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross and the Silver Life Saving Medal. He also was one of a very few individuals to receive all three Antarctic expedition medals issued for expeditions prior to the Second World War.

Dude did so much in high mountain climbing, and the controversy involving his brother's death is interesting too.

Edit: I guess such a film does exist... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanga_Parbat_(film)

Follow up with the Nflix series. You won't be disappointed.

I stopped at the gully brother v brother confrontation.

The best scene is temujin and the girl looking at each other when they're lined up in a row.

Well...

Aethelred... preferably set in a english meadow with his wives.
anyway.
Camila: What camera? yuhnuh, both work ok.

Neil Armstrong. How he fought himself to be the most remarkable person in history. From childhood onwards.

There are dictators dime a dozen. How many were the first on the Moon? Just look up.

Hi Everyone:

How about Braxton Bragg. For those who don't know, he was a Confederate General who military skills were questionable, who fought with his subordinates, who was hated by his men, and who was outshone by the competing Union Generals he was up against. Except, partly by luck, he manages to inflict the largest defeat on any Union Army during the Civil War, but through his inability proceed squandered the advantage he had gained.

Best wishes,
Mason

Good suggestion. Real drama. But don't like war much. How about two USAs?

Witold Pilecki

Quote:
(...) the founder of the Secret Polish Armyresistance group in German-occupied Poland in November 1939, and a member of the underground Home Army(...) He was the author of Witold's Report, the first comprehensive Allied intelligence report on Auschwitz concentration camp and the Holocaust. During World War II, he volunteered for a Polish resistance operation to get imprisoned in the Auschwitz death camp in order to gather intelligence and escape. While in the camp, Pilecki organized a resistance movement and as early as 1941, informed the Western Allies of Nazi Germany's Auschwitz atrocities. He escaped from the camp in 1943 after nearly two and a half years of imprisonment. Pilecki took part in the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944.(...)

Girolamo Savonarola. Look him up. Rollicking good stuff with bitter ending and great renaissance backdrop. Perfect for a movie.
